Same Coin, Different Sides

This is one of the finest documentaries ever made before and after the Marcos Presidency/Dictatorship. Imelda Marcos was allowed to share their history, which is mostly not recorded in the textbooks or even in the Philippine History context. It doesn't give any motives for historical revisionism, not historical denialism. Still, it offers enlightenment to the people that we must listen to one side of the story and both. The journey between Imelda Marcos and her husband, Ferdinand Marcos, is very affectionate and passionate. Still, it comes to a certain point that their relationship starts to crumble because of the mistress. The documentary conveyed the events during Imelda's travels amid the Cold War and met different notorious leaders. These leaders later showed that the media and the Americans only defame them.
On the other hand, the director didn’t also fail to be impartial in a particular matter. She even let the Martial Law victims express and share their stories on how they are raped and abused by the military and how inhumane these militaries are. Over time, it gives a glimpse of the present administration, President Rodrigo Duterte, a glimpse of déjà vu of Marcos time because of the Extrajudicial Killings on his War on drugs campaign. The documentary itself gives relevance to our lives right now, how we live, practice, and abused by the authorities our rights. Both the Aquino and the Marcos have their good and bad story us; let us remember that history does not repeat itself; humans do.
