her story really breaks my heart. to be really superior (smart and mature) to everyone in that mansion , except may be the granny. and then to be treated as lowest being by useless people and to be stripped of dignity , denied material comforts and denied food despite being the magistrate's concubine and more importantly being pregnant at that time. and her thinking just lying low and being humble are only possible strategies to survive and teaching that to her daughter .. really sad and pitiable.

isnt magistrate imply he is justice dispenser to tha area he is assigned to. he doesnt seem like he understands situation well, or has abilities to right a wrong. scary to live under such a person's jurisdiction

what an idiotic FL's father is - grannie tries to tell her in many ways to let main wife take charge of house , he pretends not to understand, she gives up- tries another way, to take responsibility for FL, and asks to keep her by her side , still he doesnt give in - wants his fav concubines daughter to be cared by then- smart grannie knows what will make him care and give in- his own official position - and smartly hints unless FL is under her care , there are chances of him being blamed for death of minglans mom... idiot only responds when his own position is in peril

Ep4: it seems FL's mother is from a good family, well read . sad to see she was sold off so that her family of 8 gets to survive. someone like that had to lead a pitiable life is really sad. she is mature and smarter than main wife and husband. just her own lack of courage and cunningness caused her death.

Not much progress on ML revenge arc either..could have spent the time on that.. nevetheless am still enjoyinh the series immensely

Hmm why didnt ML question FL and her family how they knew his past and secrets...isnt that obvious question, since knowing that information would put his life in danger .and their earlier excuse was FL is his fiancee ...and knowing his past by them is reasonable excuse ...but they confessed they arent related to him by betrothal..so..why isnt ML questioning.. is this oversight by writers ? Or something else??

they may have lost the plot , see he was willing to believe anything in the past, as he loved her and her family, they could have come clean fully - timetravel, and need to befriend him(his house is portal to travel back!) - and why she cannot be with him (ancestor) -- now the sequence is all wrong- she told him she lied about their engagement. he knows they are capable of lying - and now if they talk of time travel and being his descendents , will he believe ???? there is a sequence to explaining - which changed with her confession. he will only look at them as liars.

Why wouldn't he like to be with her? He is dirt poor.. and she seem to like him. What is there that could get screwed by getting together with her.?..not being able to afford travel fare to visit hometown for festival makes one wonder isnt he paid enough by majesty?? He also lives in a small house without a courtyard, doesnt have enough money to eat either... i keep wondering why he and ML , both seem not living comfortably despite being in reasonable high jobs.. both are high enough to attend meetings with emperor with other officials...so why this poor?

hmm it seems in ep24 (from trailer) he meets his real betrothed, and figures Shen family lied about it. i wonder if he asked how and why they knew so much about him, his familys fate , his own betrothal which very very few must be knowing- he simply accepted their apology or asked them all these questions. should he not consider all these points as suspicious- though they come across as honest and caring family

ML is so receptive to their thoughts, and by now he himself says their ways and style of communication doesnt belong to his era , so what is stopping them from confiding about their story - that they are his decendents... would that not solve their immediate problem - linyan wanting to court/marry their daughter- he would believe them since nothing about them is as per his timeline.. and he himsellf would backoff...

hmm..yes she said the ancestor we thought we had, .and then said, the story started 2 months back. so the story is told in retrospective- post figuring out he is not their ancestor after timetravel. so they didnt know before, only after experiencing timetravel they figured out he isnt their ancestor.. i was wondering how did they figure? since neither them nor ML had any way to confirm one way or other

you dont marry your own grand pa..(ancestor) so the alternate is he isnt their grandpa (ancestor).. there must be some misunderstanding...

am still thinking who can verify if ML is their ancestor or not? the people from future doesnt have any additional information than the few tits and bits they heard from their own grand pa. and ML would not be able to look into future and determine if he has anything to do with them... so frustating , its already 21 episodes , this still needs resolved

actually i love the changes. it will add a new dimension to the whole story - quite different challenges then had she travelled alone. and him being an ancestor also added a different hurdle to cross.. made it so interesting , esp dumb father and brother..
