I find it in me to criticize the mom! Leaving them behind so they don't have to live on the street is one thing, never checking on them is another. If she had any heart at all, she would show up at their school gate and walk home with them, if there is nothing else she can offer. Getting divorced doesn't mean losing custody. And now she is rich and settled long enough to have a great relationship with her stepdaughter, but she never thought to at least see them, if she doesn't have her own money still. Please.

Woah, for a long drama this is moving quickly. I think the yearning will be good... Although I still haven't seen her own a sidedish shop. Also that's one complicated family setup.

This sounds like a cute comfort drama with a little melo thrown in, I am also just happy to have Seok Jin on my screen again, Something about 1% is still my favourite drama of all time.

Agh, I stayed up late to wait for a confession, and now I got the whole nine yards... And now I am worried about them kissing this early, it means trouble ahead. But they are the freaking cutest. I love how well they acted the slow burn, it wasn't instant love for her or him... I love introvert stories like this.

For me the number one reason is the mainlead is an a-hole, who may have his redemption arc triggered by the fact that the FL does not forgive him as all his underlings seem to do, but he should really keep this lesson in his heart for the next girl, who sees a reformed sweetheart and never needs to know. The FL really would need an amnesia plotpoint in some cases for the lovestory to make sense, unless their goal is a honeytrap and revenge.

The restaurant owner and the flirtatious guy? I think they will be great together, since he isn't genuinely bad so far, just very personable. Since she is an independent woman herself, she might suit him better.

I really liked Maestra, it has a similar feel on the thriller side (wild plot twists, tension, but no gore) but less romance. And then of course there is Marry my Husband. And Flower of Evil, but that is much darker. I also know a Chinese Mini-Drama that has a similar setup, let me know if u should look it up for you.

It has been a while since I watched it, but I don't remember her falling for him first, at least not consciously. I remember her playing him to become the FL in the book... but I might be wrong.

What a great list! I would also add Lost Romance. He falls for her hard "in the book", but then the really sweet part comes "out of the book".

9/10. Would have been 10/10, but Chinese drama makers don't know how to stick the ending. In one case the sad ending would have been the happy ending. And in the other case, either clear the misunderstanding earlier or take a couple more episodes. Argh.

Happy to see good acting from Gong Jun, though. But Zhong Chu XI hit it out of the water, wow.

9 out of 10, why don't Chinese drama makers know how to stick the landing, always a huge letdown and rushing in the last few episodes. Otherwise this would have been up there with the best dramas ever. Sometimes the happy ending is the sad seeming ending.
