The prince Li character's portrayal was a bit unfortunate he wasnt a villain from the start, Ye li's treatment of him was unnecessarily harsh considering what he did in the past was when he was a kid and imprisoned. I feel if they had treated him as an ally that would have been better. Of course then we'd not have a "villain" to deal with in the end 😆.
