I've seen the pilot as well. R*pe should not be a reason to cancel a show. Why are ppl so triggered by SA, but…
One, I didn't write the story. Two, it's FICTIONAL! And Three, yes. Because unlike a lot of overly sensitive ppl I understand that not every relationship is full of green flags. Again, if we can consume content with murder, torture, infuriatingly ignorant damsels in distress or a variety of other possibly triggering things in them, then SA should not be the only No-Mans-Land trope you fluffy lovers try to make it out to be. It's not the worse thing ever & it shouldn't be a means for cancelation because of some ppl. Let's not forget that it made it through writers, editors, producers & even the actors that played the roles. Get real.

So the only things that can be romanticized in a FICTIONAL work are the Innocent, immature things like jealousy, possessiveness, adult children with no sense of emotional intelligence? If it's rated TV-MA, R or NC-17 then ppl should understand that the content is not for children or the easily triggered. As someone who likes dark themes, it's frustrating when I can't enjoy them because their being filtered & watered down for ppl who aren't even part of the niche just to get more viewers.
Definitely an entertaining first episode. They may have toned it down a bit from the original pilot (trailer?…
They tone it down to make it more palatable for the ones who can't stomach anything that's NOT innocent, fluffy & pure. The rating doesn't even matter anymore.
I'll admit that the "yearning" & "cuteness" that people refer to is definitely there. I did enjoy the 5 or 6 episodes that I watched, but personally as a man in my 30's I get bored with the teeny bopper tropes. Especially when they're "too young" to do relationship stuff.
A lot of girls get off on the fluffy, overly innocent, infantilizing of boys. To each his own. Personally, when I watch romance the goal is to see the couple hit the milestones of a relationship. That means the meet cute, the build up, the confession, the affection & the intimacy.
I'm here to be a fly on the wall. Make It feel real. Once it becomes too fantasy or clearly pandered to an audience who have no idea how these dynamics actually play out, it gets annoying. Whether it's women who think BL & actual gay romance is different somehow or teenagers who are too young to know what actually makes a relationship.
IMO the show isn't bad. I'm sure it's really good for ppl who like High-school/ Uni plots with immature characters. But if you're someone like me you'll drop this show (or put it on pause) once you realize the main couple drags to finally get together & never even kiss. Just a whole lot of longing.
Heater here! 😂😂 just kidding-I totally see your point. Personally, I actually enjoy it? oh god, that sounds…
I agree. Everyone has a different threshold. The reality is we can't expect every story to be CUTE. Some stories are toxic & there is definitely an audience for it or they wouldn't be making them.
