Because there's no point writing a 3 line long subtitle like VIKI does it. It's nonsense! You don't need to translate…
Yeah, I don't like that either, but CC subs are usually for disabled people. Tbh, I never understood why they have to use the dub version, because the deaf and hard of hearing subs are the (SDH) and closed captions are the (CC), so technically they don't use the right name for it. Also, I don't think there's a reason to use the dub version as a sub when they already have a normal one, they could just remove the (SDH).

Oh trust me, Netflix subs are not always quality, especially if it's not Netflix Original, because they tend to use fan subs for older shows, and they don't do quality check, but their original subs are usually good, but as I said, there are limitations for the translators. That's usually around 25-30 CPS per line.

I highly recommend for everyone who's watching with sub to check if there's a "CC" version too, those are based on the original Korean sub. Without the "CC" it's always dub version.

Not sure where did you see that, but there's 2 English Sub on Netflix. One is probably the dub version, and there's the original. I'm pretty sure you're using the dub version, that's why it's shorter and different, because they can't say the same in the dub.

Tell me the exact episode and time frame and I will tell you if you're wrong or not. I'm an official translator, I work for multiple companies, but I don't think I find any big mistakes on Netflix's English sub.

Okay, I find both seen you're talking about, and neither is translated incorrectly, but the better sub is the (CC) version, the simple English is based on the English dub! The only difference is the order of the lines, especially in the case of break-up scene.

You know the order is not the same in English as in Korean. And that's why VIKI subs are bad, they translate the subs along the way, they don't care about what sentence comes afterward.

okay i wanna point out the subtitles, like we can obviously tell the subtitles dont match at times and netflix…
Because there's no point writing a 3 line long subtitle like VIKI does it. It's nonsense! You don't need to translate every word, because in real life we don't do that either. If the sub is too long, you have to stop the video in every minute, and it takes you out from the movie or show. It's not just Netflix, pretty much every company has a CPS limit for a good reason, even movie theaters. Only fansubbers don't do this. Honestly, long subs make the whole experience worse, because you have to focus more on reading than watching the scene. If someone is a good translator, they don't have to write a whole book about a 1 line long sentence.

The Netflix sub on this one is pretty good, and the meaning isn't lost.

That's why I don't like subs on VIKI, btw. They translate everything. Even honorifics, when it's enough to use their name.

They really have to ruin this show to not become the best Kdrama of 2025!

Episode 6 broke me into millions of pieces. If IU and Bogum don't win every Award for their acting, I'm not watching any Kdrama anymore.

I don't remember when was the last time I watched a Kdrama with so many well-written female characters, regardless of age.

They did the same with The Judge from Hell and another one, I don't remember. Only Canada, UK, and Australia. Pretty much every non Disney original Drama they bought in the last 2 years are only available in these 3 countries.

It's not a Disney Original show, just distributed through D+ in certain countries. It's broadcasted on SBS. Wish…
That's what I don't get, this is an SBS drama, and Netflix just made a long-term deal with them, but we still don't see anything from SBS on Netflix. Meanwhile, Disney distributing these shows, but pretty much all of these are only available in Canada, UK, and Australia. I don't get why are they buying these shows if it's only available in 3 countries.

Use spoilers, for Christ’s sake! And it didn't happen btw, because neither of them knew anything about that,…
There's no incest in it at all. Neither of them knew that they're relatives till her mom told them, and nothing happened between them anyway, he just loved her, but I don't think for a second it was a real love. It was more like an obsession. You said there were some romantic scenes between them, and he wanted to marry her even after he found out about the truth, but that's not true. He wanted to kiss her once, but she refused. And that happened before they knew everything.

Overall, it's a decent drama, but the last couple of episode were all over the place as usual, especially the finale. So many things were left hanging there, and they didn't do anything with it.

I feel like I was right when I said, I don't have to see this in 2016! I LOVE the actors, but man, the writing sucks big time! I can accept the stupidity in a FANTASY show, but not in a drama like this. It's not just cringe, but this is not how soldiers acting and doing their work. This feels more like a parody. If I can't watch more than 1.5 episode, that says a LOT, especially if I love multiple actors of the cast!

Yeah, I know, it's not a big problem for me, in this show, because so far it's not the main plot, I don't think we can call this a main plot anyway, because only 4 episodes left. But I do think writers should come up with different things.

Yes, the pacing is good, and there's a chance the plots we mentioned won't be dragged out for long and in a bad way like in many Kdrama. This show looks more mature so far.

I get she's scarred, but it happened like 30 years ago or so, I think it's time to move on. Maybe if she finally realizes what her dad actually done will help her. To be honest, I don't really like this plot, because we've seen this so many times, the main leads have a past in some way, they're not ordinary people who just met, no they have to have a similar past or a connection. For me, this is a bit too much.

That's why I fear the 2nd leads will have the same thing.

To be honest, I don't get why she's angry and kinda "hate" her dad. It's not like he left because he didn't care about her. He wanted to save someone and died in the process.

Also, I'm kinda afraid that ML's ex-wife might come back as well. These romcom dramas giving me a headache with the usual clishe plots, and doing all these in the last couple of episodes.😅
