I liked the acting, but the drama was less enjoyable for me after reveals in episode 12 as to the so called motive for the ML addiction. The last 2 episodes became predictable with the ususal fallout after criminals turn on each other. I rated it an 8, but was hoping for better in the final episodes.

Leaving Netflix soon - I am binging this - probably the soapiest melodrama I have watched - twist after twist, secret after secret - OMG. But I am actually having fun with it. Enjoy it for what it is and although acted with realism and sincerity, don't expect it to be realistic. There are several moments where they manage to hit a zinger to my heart and a I will shed a tear or two. If you like it - great. If not, then there are plenty other options.

Jeebers - a ranking like that on one episode? Anything not a light and fluffy rom com has it tough on this board

gotta say the story unfolding were really slow burn and barely any twists. at this point I won't be surprised…
For real. I would be tempted to just walk away at this point. What is the upside?

was really hoping for the doctor to have a deeper motive... yes his trivial reasoning just shows that he's a psycho,…
Yes. So much damage for such a petty excuse.

I felt the most sorry for the victim and her boyfriend. This move well acted, but depressing.

There seems to be disconnect between the ratings here and IMDB ? 8.3 vs 9.1 (Still great!) But I'm so confused…
When My Sweet Mobster is rated higher? I am learning to trust myself on what I like, especially dramas not in rom com genre

I loved his dad’s response to his mom: “You want me to get involved in my adult son’s love life?”How very…
YES! I was so happy that he stepped up to the plate for his son - great comment of mom living through her son

Wow - the ending of episode 14 just gutted me. Such sorrow. I was glad to see how Junho handled the disrespect given to him in his classroom. So dissapointed in his mother, who hits her adult son, and still so controlling and unsupportive of her son.

This episode was horrifying with the behavior of people of weak character, hatred and unethical behavior - triggered by the jelousy and competence of a strong female teacher. I was deeply touched by the loyalty and blossoming relationship of the 2nd leads.

Title A Bloody Lucky Day Spoiler
I just finished this, and I loved the first half, and the series should have wrapped it up then. The second half…
When he chose to let the son who was a cop get murdered, I felt his character was selfish and weak. I also felt it was stupid that the suitcase was opened twice. It is only the 2nd time opened he realized his daugher was dead? The other part which was bizzare was that he suddenly couldn't remember the culprit's face? More years of police incompetence, and more plot twists than a pretzel. The acting was good, but at that point it shows that this was a ton of effort for good acting being used to hold me over until the finish line having to endure so much cruelty.

I just finished this, and I loved the first half, and the series should have wrapped it up then. The second half is basically a repeat with amped up violence and revenge, and I disliked it because I no longer cared about our protagonist. His character was ruined, and I lost all sympathy for his situation. All righteousness was gone.

yes, keep going, as this is a redemptive, healing drama, and there will be episodes that will give you deep feels. The key is you learn more with back stories.

I had to pause the scene with the conversation with Mr. Pyo as it seemed to be cryptic and sideways, not direct. If I interpret correctly, when she went to him to complain about the answer to a test, that question was open to interpretation, and the FL was trying to either get credit or a retest. Mr. Pyo's take on that was that he felt attacked and humiliated in front of his peers (he should have taken the option for a private converstaion, but underestimated the determination and logic of FL) and he questions her motive for doing so, trying to make herself more valued and important in her school. His reaction was to change the test to by the book rote memorization questions. Then his juniors, or peers are mad because so many high scores and they then have difficuly ranking their students, and lashed out at him. His final humiliation so he resigns after getting an offer at an academy. I think also there is a subcurrent of how valued public teachers are compared to academy teachers so he has a HUGE chip on his shoulder. I think he was then guilt tripping the FL, who then counters that he also attacked her calling her a parasite. There was lots of unresolved tension, and she then learns he is to be the vice director at the rival academy.

She then gets mad at Junho because he immediately goes to fight mode, saying let's defeat them! His mistake in not seeing she was upset and slowing down to listen to why she was so upset, before immediately deciding the course of action.

Where I was dismayed with the FL's behavior was that she goes to the Gray Witch and tried to block Mr. Pyo from getting this job.... Even knowing he had already resigned at his former workplace of 20 years! The Gray Witch - who is no angel by any means when it comes to tactics, ethics and behavior calls her out on her actions. That she has no problem "acting as a scoundrel" in battle, but suddenly wrestles with ethics afterwards. A valid observation, doubly painful in the meaness and rude manner delivered. So now battle lines are drawn.

Whereas Mr. Pyo had his enemies at his schools, the FL assumed the was disliked by his students. The students in her class refute this assumption in that they liked his lectures. She seems to then show her frustration when erasing the chalkboard.

This episode was uncomfortable, but we see that the characters have difficult self reflection to look at their flaws, and their response to embrace adjustments is what makes them good characters.

I could be off, but it took me rewatching scenes to come up with this interpretation as the conversations are not particularly direct.

Title The Atypical Family Spoiler
Why didn’t he just travel back to the past to escape the fire after saving her? He could’ve just travelled…
He could not jump back to the present because he jumped to the past just before the wall collasped to kill in in the present fire. So he was trapped in the past as evidenced that everything was in color and the black and white was disappearing. He lost his power to jump back. He saves the FL, and promises to her that it is not the end, but the beginning. There will be a tomorrow. His son used his superpower to find and retrieve the father in that split moment after DaHae falls to safety out of the window, and just before the explosion.

the kid does not go back to the past. His superpower is to retrieve lost things. He never left the room in the final scene.

A superb ending. The writer is a genius - keeping us guessing and how it wrapped up was perfect. What a brilliant final episode. This drama is now my new favorite.

Those who dropped this because they hated the leads and the scammers really really should reconsider this healing drama with remarkable redemptive arcs. You just might like what you see.

Title The Atypical Family Spoiler
I adore this drama and this episode had so much packed into it, done so well. My thoughts...
When the sister tells Gwijoo that she lost her powers when she did what her mom told her to do with the dream, it was also like saying, the outcome would have been different if she didn't run away from her fate. Grandma has parts of dreams right, but she has also been shown to be wrong if she doesn't have the full context.

Also, when Gwijoo and Dahae are eating out - she see the future Gwijoo and says that the future Gwijoo keeps getting better looking - so I think that is a hint for a happy ending.

The key is to live in the present, it makes his life happier and also gives him more points in his life to jump back to, AND he has more control. The scratch on the neck when helping child Dahae also confirms that he can get hurt or injured in his dream.

Hard to guess what will happen, but this writer definitely has a message in this drama and it is being delilvered artfully and in full force. This drama is so high quality in storytelling, execution, acting and directing. Truly exceptional, and fully fleshed out, nuanced characters.

Not the Noble Idiociy plot (self sacrifice) in ep 10 😭One trope that needs to be forever BANNED from dramas!
my most hated as well, but also had bonding elements and also how superpowers are used for the first time to collaborate efforts. I think it is a pivot point.
