In his mind - he's meant to loose and be looked down to, with no power or will to fight back. At the beginning it was his family, then the princess and then his own darkness... consuming him. But not totally.
Liang Qong Xi does phenomenal job at portraying Shen Yurong: from a righteous man (without a backbone) to a villain. He's probably the end villain for XFF.
Same for Li Meng as Princess Wanning... her backstory is just beyond heartbreaking. It doesn't excuse her actions, but at least we know now how she has become like this.
I wasn't so so sure about DYX dubbing, but I think they did a good job with it. It sounds similar to DYX's own voice.
