Some of you need to grasp that there are so many kinds of love, and just because they are queer characters does…
I agree that there are many types of love, however the issue is that on the Netflix trailer it said that "Soul Mate" is a romance spanning ten years between two young men. So it's misleading.
Idk how to explain this but I’ll try. I think the point of this story is that soul mates do not need to be only…
I don't think a romance needs a kissing scene, but I don't think their relationship should be depicted as ambiguous and up to interpretation if their relationship is a romance spanning ten years. There are ways to make their relationship unambiguously romantic without kissing or explicit scenes for example by using dialogue. If the point of the series was that soul mates do not need to be only the romantic kind and love between 2 queer men does not always have to end up with them getting together, and that soul mate can come in many different forms and so can love, then that sounds like a beautiful story, but Netflix saying that "Soul Mate" is a romance that spans ten years is misleading because it is not. Also, friendships can have a deep affection and devotion for one another.

I agree that soulmates can come in many forms. The issue here is that Netflix had said on the trailer description that '"Soul Mate" is a soulful romance between two young men that spans 10 years.'
If that's the case then Netflix has lied because they have said it will be a romance.Since the point of queerbaiting…
Yeah, my bad. I haven't watched it yet, but based on what I've read you were right. It's disappointing. And I don't get why Netflix said that in the trailer description. I hope Netflix sees the backlash and responds by producing a drama that is unambiguously gay.
I don't need the show to have explicit scenes or kissing scenes or a happy ending, but I did want an unambiguously romantic relationship between the two guys considering that the description on the netflix youtube trailer said that '"Soul Mate" is a soulful romance between two young men that spans ten years.'
I will still watch it but if their relationship is ambiguous I will be disappointed.
I've seen people point out that soulmates can be friends and can be platonic, and while that is absolutely true, IF that is the case in this series then it is valid for people to be disappointed because the description under the Netflix trailer on youtube said '"Soul Mate" is a soulful romance between two young men that spans 10 years.'
I really dont understand how ppl watch this gem and be disappointed its not a romance or bl and be all 'ohh there…
I deffo agree that soulmates can be platonic friends, but if that is the case in this show then I understand the dissapointment because the netflix trailer description on YouTube does say that "Soul Mate" is a romance between two young men that spans ten years.
100% agree. I am so tired of people who dont get complex characters/stories and judge them shallowly by "did…
I would still say watch it yourself or wait for more reviews because that person skipped over half the show and so may have accidentally missed scenes that were important.
Can someone please reply to tell me whether the '"Soul Mate" is a soulful romance between two young men that spans 10 years.' part of the netflix trailer description is true.
Same for UK Netflix and US Netflix (using a VPN). I personally think that it's gonna have a sad ending and that's…
So for Netflix, the description used to be: In a moment of despair, Ryu Narutaki finds himself saved by Korean boxer Johan Hwang. As their wounded souls draw closer, their fates cruelly intertwine.
Now it is: Haunted by guilt and doubt, Ryu flees Japan for Berlin and is saved by Korean boxer Johan. Their chance encounter binds their destiny for years to come.
For the remaining hours, a good read about the preparations and thought processes of the 2 lead actors. There…
Ik Netflix has said it's a romance between two men but one of the questions being "Making close friends as an adult isn't easy, is it? Do you actually have a friend you'd call your soulmate?" (If the auto translate was accurate) did make me worry.
I will still watch it but if their relationship is ambiguous I will be disappointed.
Glad you enjoyed it though.
