I agree that there are many types of love, however the issue is that on the Netflix trailer it said that "Soul Mate" is a romance spanning ten years between two young men. So it's misleading.

So Netflix said in the trailer description that '"Soul Mate" is a soulful romance between two young men that spans 10 years.'

Wait what?? They changed the dialogue??

I don't think a romance needs a kissing scene, but I don't think their relationship should be depicted as ambiguous and up to interpretation if their relationship is a romance spanning ten years. There are ways to make their relationship unambiguously romantic without kissing or explicit scenes for example by using dialogue. If the point of the series was that soul mates do not need to be only the romantic kind and love between 2 queer men does not always have to end up with them getting together, and that soul mate can come in many different forms and so can love, then that sounds like a beautiful story, but Netflix saying that "Soul Mate" is a romance that spans ten years is misleading because it is not. Also, friendships can have a deep affection and devotion for one another.

Yeah, my bad. I haven't watched it yet, but based on what I've read you were right. It's disappointing. And I don't get why Netflix said that in the trailer description. I hope Netflix sees the backlash and responds by producing a drama that is unambiguously gay.

I don't need the show to have explicit scenes or kissing scenes or a happy ending, but I did want an unambiguously romantic relationship between the two guys considering that the description on the netflix youtube trailer said that '"Soul Mate" is a soulful romance between two young men that spans ten years.'

I will still watch it but if their relationship is ambiguous I will be disappointed.

I agree it's not a BL but it is tagged as LGBTQ+ on Netflix in a lot of countries.

I've seen people point out that soulmates can be friends and can be platonic, and while that is absolutely true, IF that is the case in this series then it is valid for people to be disappointed because the description under the Netflix trailer on youtube said '"Soul Mate" is a soulful romance between two young men that spans 10 years.'

I would still say watch it yourself or wait for more reviews because that person skipped over half the show and so may have accidentally missed scenes that were important.

The episodes are not long but put all together it is over 4 hours. Hasn't it been out less than 2 hours? Or is there a lot of credits/a long opening?

Ik Netflix has said it's a romance between two men but one of the questions being "Making close friends as an adult isn't easy, is it? Do you actually have a friend you'd call your soulmate?" (If the auto translate was accurate) did make me worry.
