I like them because love is love. There’s not much more to it than that. I get just as giddy at the first hand…
Ok interesting. Thanks for your POV I had questions as I observed that Heterosexual women love them more than gay men who should be the target audience. Sometimes these women seem to have a bit of homophobia too or at least not caring for the gay community. As history had shown racists fantasying about their object of hatred; I am not at ease with heterosexual women deliberately seeking BL. I also remember growing up a documentary made in Japan where the trend emerged in Mangas; it was said that was a specific s** fantasmé le ke band***. We could see Japanese women hidden their books with so much shame. They didn’t show their face to the camera. But nowadays when they are so much of them nobody is mentioning that anymore and suddenly the genre has become a full innocent depiction. So facts don’t seem to fully add up. I Support the gay community, I am happy for their representations but I don’t really like or feel fully comfortable with women fetishizing over gay men.
Here the story looks very light so far. Let’s see how it goes and if it’s really a BL.
You forget 2 years for military services. Personally I don’t think we should Romanticized any longer in 2026…
In Korea they do it usually during college years, take 2 years break mid course some might do it after finishing but as the last year universities have program with corporates some internship that help to land the first job I observe that they tent to do it after 1rst or second year of Year university. Outside idols and men that make their studies abroad, doing at 30 isn’t the norm. They do fast as apparently the experience leaves them with scar. When they aren’t fit to be deployed they have to do 3 years civil services I don’t know which level of incapacity you need to be fully exempted. 👍Nice the back story with his sight I didn’t listen

You forget 2 years for military services. Personally I don’t think we should Romanticized any longer in 2026 student/teacher relationships even when the teacher is still young. There is an unbalanced of power therefore a consent that could not be real or at its fullest. Way too much cases of grooming, harassment…to be cool anymore.
She was a sociopath, but I'd say it was good. If you want a psychological thriller without any romance and a villain…
Yes she is (played Geum Nala 금나라(the gold country 😆she must be a rich character) But It’s her birth name, her business name is 정은채 Jung Eunjae those romanized names are so confusing as there is literally no consistency but I still should had used her birth name. Even if she is older than Jung SoMin she might have changed to avoid confusion. She was in Pachinko, Anna, Dr Frost, Your honor, Honour, Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born…
She was a sociopath, but I'd say it was good. If you want a psychological thriller without any romance and a villain…
Thanks. They had that number of episodes on SBS, KBS and MBC because Korean Governments changed the law about advertising during content, so channels were splitting episodes in two to maintain commercial breaks.Thanks. I have to try this one, I appreciate 정솔미’s acting. On Instagram an influencer put an extract slightly mocking their accent while the actresses were speaking a foreign language the extract made me curious. I used to be not be interested by 막장 but after seeing severals either without knowing prior they were makjang or just because the drama was very successful and I need to have a comprehensive understanding on why the flops flopped and why the success skyrocketed. My position on them has evolved lately. …Now I have to investigate why they changed the actress mid-drama…😆
She was a sociopath, but I'd say it was good. If you want a psychological thriller without any romance and a villain…
I did not listed the famous and well-know thrillers as you might have already seen them but more confidential options and less talk-about dramas.
A few suggestions: • Hidden face (she is a devoted wife, former lawyer her husband disappeared one day and step by step she starts to discover all the dirty laundry) • As I stood by (2 childhood friends trying to escape a violent husband when divorce isn’t an option) • My happy ending (Successful woman who has everything witness her whole life collapsing in front of her eyes, can she trust anyone in her inner circle? What is going on exactly?) • Honour (3- lawyer friends fighting human trafficking crimes involved in a big scandal where nobody is really what he/her pretends to be.) • Witch at court (A group of prosecutors aligned to unveil a sex traffic organization that involved the most powerful men of the country) • Queenmaker ( To go against the most powerful family a human right advocating decides to help a female activist to become President. When two complete visions of the word fight for power, who is going to win the battle?) • Unlocked (movie) (How wrong everything can go when you lose your phone) • Doctor Prisoner (Young medecin that has been wronged embark on a revenge journey implicating powerful family, prison administrator, hospital management) • Your honor (Identical twin, one is in jail the other is judge) The mystery isn’t very deep here and the romance maybe took too much room for you but it was a good watch • Murky stream (period drama but with a darker atmosphere, story of several individus from completely different social background are trying to make it or even survive the day during Goryeo)
- Legal dramas that have also a light undertone or humour: • Judge vs Judge (newly hired judge who tried to understand her brother’s case as she believes he has been wrongly sentenced, they added a light romance to balance the legal cases but the final reveal is very interesting) • Diary of the prosecutor (slice of life of failed prosecutors exiled far from Seoul, several legal cases and a big scandal to unveil, each prosecutor has a compelling story) • One the woman (a prosecutor taking over the life of a weathly woman who looks just like her, there is a mystery, a slight romance and humour) -To be honest Lee Hanee carries most of the drama. • And finally Perfect strangers, 2 persons from current days a famous tv journalist and a book assistant editor get back in the 80s to unveil a series of murders in a small town, it’s a well-made mix of many genres, the time travel aspect is rightly made there isn’t 300 back and forths that make it unbelievable, the small town inhabitants are compelling and funny). That drama isn’t very famous but everybody that I know that has seen it loved it. Available on VIU (or Internet) only.
I hope you will like them if you have the opportunity to try. Many are still available either on Netflix or Viki, only one Disney the oldest one might be 2017. Perfect Strangers is only on the web for most regions.
She was a sociopath, but I'd say it was good. If you want a psychological thriller without any romance and a villain…
Sorry if it came across as harsh critic of the drama, mostly I haven’t seen it so I cannot judge from an unbiased position if she should have been nominated for the Baeksang awards. I still have like 300 dramas on my watchlist so I tend to prioritize dramas that can serve my Korean leaning purposes, dramas that fit my favorite genre (slice of life), dramas that tackle my interests (law, healthcare, sociology) or that bring some fast comfort (romance)
She was a sociopath, but I'd say it was good. If you want a psychological thriller without any romance and a villain…
You are right she was supposed to be a sociopath not a psychopath. I made a mistake. I am not sure about this drama, I am not a big admirer of contents with psychopath/sociopath when they aren’t properly balanced with a character that would bring a mere beginning of explanation about the behavior, the motivations and triggers. I find those stories very often caricatural and made just by people who craves pure violence and dark stressed atmosphere aesthetics. I can go through discomfort but I need at least to learn one thing throughout and mostly I need to respect at least one character to care about a story for 12 hours. I get bored very fast just watching mean people. It is good that this drama found its people.

You « don’t think » is in any case a pass to come and rebute any kind of hypothesis or analysis. You are not in agreement at lease one argumentation is needed. Especially when a sentence starts with «no it is not » as if you were in some possession of the absolute truth. Be careful in the future about opinions as they are not supported by proof, knowledge, observations next to analytic people it might give a wrong perception of you or show a sign of low IQ. Assuming because someone writes more than 10 words or cross-checked information is a psycho who needs to « relax » is also a meek opinion.
She is right, difficult to be blindly against just for principle or fear of progress but calling wrongdoings and advocating for better protection, strong policies is sensible and the right way to go. In many countries ai providers are being sued for using actors face, voices…to make them say and support nonsenses without their consent. Voices and faces are copyrighted!

Maybe you need to learn how to read properly. I have written mid-life. And there is where is located the interpretation from the traduction. The person who wrote the drama description was faithful to what is said in Korean as description of both characters (중년이). Which can be middle age or mid-life. So based upon the Korean word I interpreted that the adulthood can be estimated as the middle of the life and that I wasn’t chocked. The author had maybe imagined a widower in his early forty and a 35-year actor has been cast…Nonetheless middle age/mid-life is what is available online as description of characters!!!! Asking ourselves a few questions before mocking someone translation is needed.
omg Yeri😍PS. a man in his 30s is NOT “middle-aged” ffs😭
Around 35 is the transition to 아저씨 ajuhssi I am not chocked I feel like they have only 3 stages of 20 years: student 학생, adult and senior. so 35 is mid-life 😂
The time frame is very strange April to March. Been released early this year often plays as an advantage. Seen all these performances and they were solid. Lim Yoona is in fairness underneath but her acting has really improved so I am not disappointed to see her here. But seeing her winning this competition would be a surprise. Immense Respect for 박해선 she has a point for being in the last drama but this one is between 김고은 and 박보영 for me. Dear x wasn’t appealing to me I still need to watch it to judge if 김유전의 acting was good. Playing psycho can easily be very cliché.

I am Not sure to which comment you replied. I haven’t suggested her motivations. I just said based upon a discussions with Koreans that boundary weren’t the same as in western countries. Melodrama is mostly a tone not a fixed storyline. Melodrama is supposed basically just to appeal to strong emotions. I don’t think that romcom is even a genre that Koreans really cover on tv they do romance which doesn’t have all the comedy aspect and the lightness of a romcom. Maybe people were expecting a more compelling story. Some thing they can relate to.
Oh no. I was expecting to love this one regardless of the low ratings and bad feedbacks. I Love jTBC (SLL) dramas, love the OST, love the Korean countryside, love slice of life, the cast is full of good actors…but I have to admit after watching 4 episodes that I am so bored. The story has lost his appeal very fast. I don’t understand why they have to tell that often those melodrama stories where one character is stuck in time after a break up. Yeah it takes time to heal but at 20 you have plethora of opportunities you move on, you explore possibilities…In that scenario what I dislike the most, the woman ends up being the bad guy all the time. One, that depiction is so far from real life as women are more in touch with their emotions, more willing to sacrifice themselves for the love one. There is no need to make woman the vilain to hype the male character. It’s a very weird mind game to discourage women to hype the female character. A reunion story is possible even if people since have licked their wound and move on. I don’t think true love is having one unique person. It’s having amongst the loves experienced one that is stronger, brighter and fulfill you more than others, maybe one that requests less compromises and allow you to be fully yourself. It does not mean that you did not love the other one(s) just it’s a different kind of intensity. I feel that vision, so exclusive is kinda immature 약간 싸요 and too out of touch.
