Gosh, it's barely been 5 minutes since I watched the last episode and I already miss my pro bono family. What a well-written and thought provoking drama. When I started watching it, I didn't expect to become so immersed to the story and the characters and yet here I am.
Pro Bono is one of this type of stories which make you think and question your morals. The writer did an excellent job portraying so many painfully relevant issues which concern not only Korean audience but they apply to global audiences too. The fact that the drama tackled some complex themes (such as abortion, immigration or disability), which aren't that common in kdramas made me respect it even more.
Each episode left me more excited than the previous one and I was always so excited to see how Da Wit and the rest of the team would defend their clients and serve justice. The second half was even stronger than the first one and the final part wrapped the series perfectly.
This was my first Jung Kyung Ho drama and I already consider myself as one of his fans. He was excellent in this role, he portrayed various emotions and his subtle acting encapsulated Da Wit's thoughts and personality perfectly. He owned this role and I am honoured to be introduced to him through this drama.
I will admit that sometimes, I found myself thinking that everything was going too well for the pro bono team. The way some cases ended was too good, which unfortunately doesn't happen in real life. But the more I think about it, the more I realise that this is another reason why this drama became such a comfort to me. Sometimes we need this type of stories. Stories that remind us that even though we live in a cruel and unfair world, there are people out there who will fight for the weak no matter what. Pro Bono doesn't attempt to paint reality in a positive way, nor divert our attention from the problems many people face. What it does is raise awareness to the unfair treatment less powerful citizens endure and make us question the law and who it serves.
The law is supposed to be fair and yet that doesn't happen all the time. So when people who are being judged unfairly cannot defend themselves, who is going to help them? While pro bono teams are vital, what society needs is a major shift. And since that shift cannot happen immediately, the drama shows that through small steps, we can try to improve the world we live in.
This drama will accompany me for a very long time. The writing isn't flawless but it remained very good and I am happy for getting into it.
Yes, I was. Like come on, why can’t it be just real tattoo? ._.)
This happens in the webtoon too, in the webtoon, he actually used his sleeve tattoo to cover a scar on his arm (so far, no scar has been shown in the kdrama, so apparently they must have changed this)
the only romance i will accept is with Jeong in & da wit
I think this is the romance the writers bet on too. I never thought that Da Wit and Gi Ppeum were framed as potential romantic partners. Gi Ppeum viewed him as a role model, an idol who shaped her ideals and made her become an attorney. I was afraid that the drama would follow a romantic approach between them but I'm happy to be proven wrong.
I became a kdrama fan last year. I was never a big fan of romance stories and for now, the majority of kdramas I've watched are thrillers or slice of life stories. Cliche romance tropes don't interest me all the time and usually, I wouldn't watch a romance focused drama.
And yet here I am having the best time watching Spring Fever.
The first 2 episodes have set up the ground for a fun and hectic story. I already love the main leads' chemistry and I'm very interested in their separate stories. I want to learn more about Yoon Bom's life and the incident that got her expelled from her previous school and I want to see more layers of Jae Gyu's character.
I adore the energy between these two and it melted my heart to see Yoon Bom finally letting herself be happy and carefree around someone. I am very excited about the developing romance between them and I hope they will not spoil it by adding unnecessary drama.
The rest of the characters are also very engaging, Han Gyul is such a soft and kind-hearted boy and I'd love to see more of his relationship with Jae Gyu. He clearly loves him but the loss of his parents and the stigma of being an orphan have clearly taken a tool on him, so I'm interested in his own development.
The lawyer is another entertaining character, he wants to come across as serious yet he's such a dork (in a good way). I'm praying that he won't be the third part in a potential love triangle though!
I am looking forward to the next episodes. I can't believe that I'm having such a great time watching a romcom. This shall be a lesson to not limit myself to one genre.
As much as I love this drama, I agree with some people who say that the Pro Bono team's attitude is kinda annoying. I get where they come from but after experiencing first-hand how much Dawit's methods helped them win their cases, one would assume they'd cut him some slack. Especially since he punished a criminal of a CEO. If the series had fleshed out the characters more, this final arc would be a nice conclusion for their development but since we didn't get to see much of them, besides Gi Ppeum, Na Hui and maybe Jun U, their switch seem kinda bizarre. I remain optimistic about the ending though!
Yeah, I really, really like the direction of the series. The first episode was a very good build-up but the second one was just chaotic in the best way possible. Now we got the background of Ha Young and we will follow his path to redemption. I heard from fans online that the webtoon has a comical tone and I couldn't be happier about it.
Ji Sung is fascinating to watch so far, the difference in his acting in the first two episodes is crazy. He embodies Ha Young perfectly and he encapsulated his behavior perfectly. Cannot wait to see more.
Very pleased to see the rating climbing up to 8.3. This drama was one of the best last year in terms of comedy and chemistry among the characters and it deserved more attention.
The main issue with Cashero is that it tried to do many things at once in 8 episodes and as a result, the final result was lackluster. The writers wanted to combine humour, action and social commentary alongside a superhero powers system but one can only do too much with such a short length. You cannot eat your cake and eat it. It would have been better if they had committed to a specific tone and vibe from the get-go. Having your main character address social issues through short monologues isn't deep and the humour ruined the emotional impact during some scenes.
