Wow, after they entered the stone illusions, the drama has gotten more confusing.I hope i can get the answers…
I will attempt to clarify some of this.
1 WY having her fox power in the illusion is still a mystery. WS is actually using his father’s water ability; he is, after all, the chief of the flood dragon. Only WY somehow is able to use her original power. This could mean many things: the original DZ was actually a fox, or somehow had special power.
2 YWH, or Li Jie, is definitely the most confusing one. The Butterfly Demon and Li Jie were both trying to get out of the illusion. Li Jie is in Yuan Xi Zai's body, and the Butterfly Demon is in YWH. This really adds more context to YWH's backstory and the hidden identity of possible Li Jing. The Butterfly Demon simply wants to end the illusion and get out.
3 We don't know yet why the Butterfly Demon looks like YWH; it is still a mystery. Because we know there was an older YWH in the flashback with Ji Ling as Long Shen. CW, or Ji Ling, might not have the memories from when he was Yuan Xi Zai (these are guesses, as we don’t know at this point).
4 No clue.
5 The birth of WS is still shrouded in mystery. In episode 7, CW actually spoke about this with Bai Ze. Bai Ze asked if WS is the one we've been waiting for. CW replied, “you could say yes, but also no.” So CW knows something more about this.
What episode are you on ? up to the latest episode it does address some of the story so far.
Here is a very simplistic answer that may help you. The arc itself is to continue world-building, build up the plot, and reveal the main villain.
Lu Wu Yi and Long Shen is back in time 1000 years ago, to learn about the events that happened. The important parts will be revealed, but think of it as the origin story.
Li Jie is back in time 150 years ago, which is a bit more confusing because there are 2 of them; they are not twins. He is in the body of Yuan Wu Huo's little brother, Yuan Xi Zai. We learn a bit more of the backstory of Yuan Wu Huo.
Wu Wang Yan and Wu Shi Guang are back in time 50 years ago. WSG is in the body of his father, and WWY is in the body of his mother. They will discover the tragedy of what happened to the flood dragon clan and learn a bit about the villain as well.

Nah, I think a lot of people are in your camp. I think there’s a reason Chi Wen (TJR version) has a lot of burden. He’s carrying the Dragon Deity mantle, and he clearly knows more than he’s letting on.
I just hope GJM makes it a satisfying reason, for Chi Wen action and coldness.
