Thai, Champ, and Sorn are childhood best friends .... Jun and Thai's younger brother Win are childhood best friends. They all grew up together. Older set are 26 years old, younger set are 21 years old. Jun used to call all 3 older boys Hia.

I've seen some prefer Hia and some prefer P .... so switching to the opposite after using one for a long time can be seen as an upgrade or downgrade depending on what is happening.

Jun seems to be upset that Sorn avoided him for 2 years when he was still in contact with everyone else and even worked at the same company ... Hence the switch to P' from Hia.

Pretty sure that Win is Thai's younger brother, but basically the same. And there was mention in episode 2 that Thai promised Jun's father that he'd take care of him and his sister, but not in the sense that Jun's father is dead ... more like he's living somewhere else and knows that Thai will look out for them while the parents are away.

Exactly! We needed at least 2 more episodes to fully tell the story they were trying to tell. I get wanting to expand some of the friends and family roles for the live action ... but not at the expense of the couple that was supposed to be leading the show.

See confusion about their ages so adding this while it's fresh since I'm watching it now.

- 2008 - According to Ongsa's dad in episode 10, Ongsa is 18.
- 2008 - According to Suansoon's driver's license in episode 4, Suansoon is 19. His birthday is March 14, 1989.
- 2008 - They originally meet on March 5, 2008 when they are both 18.
- 2008 - They begin officially dating on March 14, 2008

- 2018 - Their 10 year anniversary, Suansoon's 29th birthday, and the date of Ongsa's accident are all on the same date, March 14, 2018
- 2018 - It's at least a day or two before Suansoon travels back to 2008

- 2008 - 29 year-old Suansoon lands in January 2008 and immediately meets 18 year old Ongsa.
- 2008 - Suansoon does go back to 2018 but adding details not already included in the blurb would be a spoiler, so just know that the entire series is not the age-gap version of the characters.

In my opinion, they handled the scenes and bond between 2008 Ongsa and 2018 Suansoon very well. There was a delicate balance because of the 10 year age gap with Ongsa that young and also Suansoon's lived experience with the Ongsa who aged with him from 2008-2018, but I think they handled it very well. With only 2 more episodes before I finish the series, I think it'll finish strong.

Because of the Thai school calendar, most seniors are 18/19 when they graduate high school.

Just finished and it ended up being cuter than I expected. The first half was a lot. But around the middle it started to come together. Coincidentally, that is around the time the relationship elements became more of the storyline, however that isn't why I think it got better. I just think the characters had more to do.

It was obvious that Rak fell first, and early on, as early as the second or third episode. But all the people throwing themselves at him was just one overdone joke after another that he basically ignored from the start. When he started to use some of those lines to flirt and tease Diao in the second half of the season it hit differently. His character was more reserved, not as loud, so him trying to be playful with Diao felt more sincere. He was a steady, sweet character who looked at Diao with such fondness no matter what he did, that he is easily the gem of this series.

Diao was a harder character to like. Mainly because he would default to the worst possible conclusion and lash out without giving anyone (Rak mostly) a chance to say anything. Episode after episode of his role being a human tornado while not much else of consequence happens. UNTIL, he starts to unconsciously react to Rak. Then it's not so unconscious and the story seems to shift from chaos to Diao's confusion. Rak senses the change, which is part of the reason Rak steps up his attentions. Turns out Diao does have a normal or midrange volume setting. The other characters are still stuck on high, but they aren't on screen as much so they become the enjoyable quirky supporting cast I think they were meant to be.

The second half of the series is what I like most, and it's worth seeing just for those episodes. The ending is abrupt, but does imply a happy ending. I'd watch a second season if they made it, because I'd love to see what happens "after", but I'm not sure it's in the plan since it's been years since the series ended.

Watching episode 12 now and things finally seem to be calming down. It's still over the top in sitcom fashion, but more focused and not as 'screamy".

According to the lead-up promo .... Thai, Champ, and Sorn are long time best friends ... and Jun is best friends with Thai's Younger brother. I think it listed them as approx 5 years apart in age when they were giving everyone ages during their introductions at the beginning. So they've all known each other for years. But at some point it seems like Sorn distanced himself from Jun because of what happened. But he was obviously still hanging out with Thai and Champ since they are all working together.

Watched through 8 and we seem to be getting somewhere. And seeing Laz1 with Daou and Offroad as cameos was fun.

Up to ep 3 and Diao is so petty ... I need him to calm down.

Having a hard time with the laugh track and how everyone seems to be yelling everything they say. Going to stick with it since so many people seem to recommend it.

After starting the book I can see why some of the readers are disappointed in the series as an adaptation. Heesu is exactly the same ... and I can see similarities in the events but things don't happen exactly as they've been shown in the series. Plus, the vibe is totally different because CY and SW are totally different. The pace is faster because SW is not nearly as insecure and is more obvious.

That being said ... I'm liking the book for what it is and liking the series for what it is.

I agree. I didn't know that it was filmed so long ago, but I think it's holding up pretty well. There isn't a serial killer or major mystery ... no grand injustice to right or problem to solve. It's a romance. How do they get together? How do they get their HEA or HFN? Some stories are light and fun so we don't even question a superficial change of heart from one crush to another ... some take more time. I wouldn't have minded if the events at the end of ep 6 had happened an episode earlier, but I can't point to any specific scenes I'd cut either. Overall, I'm liking it so far.

TLDR: I'm liking this so far. It takes time to change feelings ... Heesu needs time to get over his friend and Seung Won needs time to come out of his shell.

The mainest of the the main characters is Heesu ... and he is in 85-90% of the show. His solo scenes and interactions with all the characters IS the show. The revelations about who he is, him liking his friend for years, his security in knowing that his friend doesn't actually like the girls he agrees to date (but ignore) while spending all his time with Heesu, him advising classmates on their relationships and crushes, him getting most of the advice from living with his sisters and seeing their romantic lives, Him gradually making friends with the classmate who has become his new neighbor, his world getting rocked when his best friend/crush actually likes someone for the first time, him trying to make sense of his feelings, his teenage brain thinking that fixing up his crush's crush with someone new would put his life back in order, getting even closer with his new friend during the process ... slowly realizing that he's having fun and not thinking about his crush 24/7 anymore, and now .... he finds out his efforts have "failed" because the 2nd couple is already together. So far ... that is the story to me. Heesu's growth.

With how much he liked his friend, I'm glad they didn't just spin it around for a new crush. Those original feelings don't just disappear so I'm glad they are giving him time to adjust. I didn't read the book so I don't know what turned his head from Chan Yeong to Seung Won in the original .... but in this version, it's the 2nd couple getting together. I'm okay with that because they've already laid the groundwork for Heesu's changing feelings. And we've mainly seen the 2nd couple in relation to Heesu and Seung Won ... rarely by themselves.

I've seen comments about the first couple dragging their feet when the second couple are already together ... but my thought on it is that the 2nd couple just have less to sort out. They like each other, they have a lot in common, they decided to act on it right away.

For Heesu and Seung Won ... Heesu still thinks Seung Won likes Ji Yu. He has no idea that SW is gay let alone likes him. SW is so shy and skittish about it that if Ji Yu wasn't pushing him then he would probably stay silent forever. And while that may be the whole point of some viewers' complaints ... I see it as necessary time for change. I wouldn't call the progress they've made less important than the other couple just because one couple is together and the other is not. It's just a different path.

I'm enjoying SW getting bolder in each episode. I like that Heesu is going to be forced to reevaluate his feelings now. I'm not sure what "couple moments" we'll get from them, but the combo of goofy and awkward has been cute so far. Looking forward to them figuring things out in the remaining 4 episodes ... even if it does take all 4. There really isn't a large storyline that needs to be resolved beyond them getting together so I've set my expectations for that. If they get together before the end then I'd have to wonder what conflict would shake up their relationship enough to warrant more episodes to fix.

I noticed that too because Gawin usually has the deepest voice in the cast of any show I've seen him in. It took a few episodes before Gawin's voice didn't seem like it was coming from someone else.
