my 3.5 is basically for the 2 leads and the woman who played 10+ roles in 40 minutes. I think they did fine with what they were given, but it looks like half of the story was left on the cutting room floor.
who is the woman who kept showing up in random ways ... the driver, the hotel staff, a tourist on the beach, etc. I know I've seen her in something. Something where she wore traditional Thai clothes stands out most ... so I'm thinking whatever I saw her in was a period piece.
Strong start but started to get wobbly around the middle and stalled at the end. I think the super short episodes worked against the story in this case.
All my 5 stars are for the actors because they did a great job with what they had to work with. As for the story ... this is more an outline of events than an actual story. Are we really not going to see whatever danger the woman kept talking about? No word from his family?
Mild’s brother Mud says that the reason he and Knight are fighting is because Mud took Knight’s girlfriend in High School …. but then they say Knight is a 4th year … so a senior in college … which means that this feud is at least 4 years old, probably longer, if that’s the truth. But Mild still thinks Mud and Knight are friends and that this is a recent falling out? But then, when Mud and Knight are arguing later in the show, Knight repeatedly says that he won’t let Mud keep him away from Mild anymore and that he won’t let Mild get away again … implying that Knight has liked Mild for a while and Mud has been standing in Knight’s way.
I don’t want a lot of spoilers, just trying to. make the timeline make sense. They aren’t strangers at the start … both instances imply that Mild and Knight already know each other, even if it’s just as “friend’s brother/brother’s friend”
Lots of secrets from this episode. The romance has been touched upon to various degrees for each couple, but I…
And for Chakri .... I think (hope) we haven't seen the last of him. I was shocked. But the previews are always edited with voiceovers in the wrong place ... so I think the grave they visited might be Charan's parents???? I may have to rewatch it to see if they show a name (Chakri's or the mom's).
Lots of secrets from this episode. The romance has been touched upon to various degrees for each couple, but I appreciate the larger story they are telling too. It's an ambitious story and I think they are doing it well.
interesting premise but not enough on screen to tell the story. Dong Uk is angry and then suddenly not ... their rehearsal and get-to-know you stage is very limited ... then it seems like they try to "redeem" the jerk at the end, like he was a jerk on purpose for Dong Uk's own good???? Did not make sense.
I'm curious about the special episode coming next week. Why? I plan to watch because I'm curious .... but after the official finale, I think we're all just stunned. We've been prepped for 8 episodes. I only learned about the special episode in passing about an hour ago. I'm guessing that most people will never know about it. Why not just say it's 9 episodes so people can manage expectations? I think I would have reacted differently to the events in the "finale" if I had known it wasn't actually the final episode.
I thought it was cute. Would have preferred a deeper story, but it worked okay as it was. I'm glad there wasn't a huge jealousy or betrayal arc. Just people figuring stuff out and acting on it.
You are right, however, Nu is not so innocent, what was that last scene with a fiance! Is he a liar too?
Also, we don't know if that is a real fiancee of some woman his mother arranged behind his back. Nu obviously knew who she was, but we'll have to see if he considers her more than just a friend/acquaintance.
