Yeah that's one thing, Given that idol dramas always lean more towards traditional romance tropes (modern era/wuxia) and high emotional tension between two attractive leads, which captivates and attracts younger audiences. Johnny is more of an action-oriented actor who does dramas with macho archetypes despite his idol-like appearance in his 30s, which is why internationally all his dramas gets escalated by the viewers.
