That's exactly why there's an imbalance in C-dramas nowadays. More than 70% of C-dramas have become idol dramas now, which has sidelined serious dramas in the market because screenwriters are coerced into writing stories under pressure to resonate more with international viewers rather than one of their own. It would be amazing if the Chinese, Korean, and Thai industries follow marketing standards like the Japanese industry.

Can't a drama go without hugs, kisses, and PDA? Why do people expect every C-drama to have one? The story is literally set against the backdrop of China for a reason, FFS.

yeah he looks fine for a guy in his mid 30's from the new stills. But anything beyond 25 shouldn't be considered as "youth" or "young adult". I've often seen Asian dramas doing this mistake.
