She was busy with her studies aboard (major in acting in ivy league college), so in upcoming years. We will see alot of her and her acting has improved by "leaps and bounds", so it was good decision on her part.
This drama is phenomenal and after this I want to see her in some good and long ass Wuxia !

You think playing a grey character with multiple emotional layers is very easy and I don't care about other actors but you think FL acting was easy and Neo is having hard time here.
Brother the way she was smiling even had breath of sadness, the way she carried herself and made decisions showed her layers of pain, you think its easy to act like this cuz she made it look effortless and that's one of the sign of good actor. You can't even detect she is acting and the person becomes one with the character....to learn more about method acting check out De Niro (I am not saying she is as good as him). Neo acting here is like a freaking monotonous troll with zero layers or emotions.

Yes, they did exactly that and all well reputed chinese directors and reviewers praised it and hence that's why people are praising it here. Who said its the greatest show of 2024 and I was planning to give it 8 due to stupid fight chorography but settled om 8.5 cuz he corrected himself.
I think you are judging the wrong person cuz I am a harsh critic and I rate dramas fairly regardless of the fact, I like the leads or not. I like Bai Lu but if she lacks something I will say it, for ex "Only for Love" was utter trash.
The good non-Romance drams for me are Sword snow stride, Joy of life 1 & 2, mysterious case lotus book and The blood of Youth....this one doesn't stand up to that. Hence 8 !

Was it shoot as Rom-Com with prehistoric cast or CCP have just released it from vault after years and cast has become old at that point.

I stand by what I have said and I also recognize you from Xu Kai drama page, which is dominated by Indians, who give "Familial Rape Threats" to people and you were hanging out with that lot.
So you can understand, why I assumed your identity and where my frustration/anger comes from and I don't know if you remember it but I praised Xu Kai for "Sword and Fairy" and ABAY recently.
I did have fight with Xu kai fans but I rated it fairly and supported him in the later part of the drama, I will accept Xu Kai have made improvement in his acting in ABAY (especially post breakup grief scenes) but my original comment stands.
He really need to stop playing the "Rich Boss" character and move into other roles, he has potential to do play deep and complicated role as he did in "Story of Yanxi palace" and The Legends but his agency/him is ruining him with Type-casting as businessmen again and again.

You think NEO is so good....then why he isn't getting big roles one after another. Why he isn't counted as "best of the best" like NiNi in China. He is just a newbie with status as "minor traffic actor" and that's the reality.

You can check my watchlist, I have seen much of his work. People are bringing LYX here The blood of Youth is its sequel and he is main lead in it. Its very normal for humans in this world to compare prequels to sequels of drama !

Funny thing is I am not even big fan of LXY cuz I have no seen much of his work but "you can't compare apple to oranges" Neo is no match for his peers, let alone fight bigger opponents.

Go and watch Ancient Love Poetry and his character was even more childish/love-stricken troll than Baili Dong but still nobody bad mouthed him due to this.

I have also watched 6 episodes and you can't compare it with "Double" cuz apart from superb acting by the main FL lead. There was clear cut reasoning behind objectives, balanced screenplay and believable acting.
Yes, there were few problems with the script like ML using "Freaking fan to fight Full armoured and experienced assassins" but the show did correct them like, ML decided to use proper sword to fight full armoured soldiers in the war. The double was a singular entity with no adaptation to compare it with but unfortunately with this one, we have its masterpiece sequel "TBOY" and that has sealed the show from the get go!
To me it's an 8 show so far cuz of the acting and unreasonable plot, sorry to this but Neo is newbie and its very unfair for him to be compared with the likes of WJY and LYX, both of these not only experienced but phenomenal actors/actress in their own right and its not just Neo.
You better believe WJY can outmatch and outclass the famous actress like Bai Lu, Lusi and all the young gen class...Neo as much as like him ain't them !

Same here brother...taking a long break from c-dramas but I would recommend you watch "Lovely Runner" first and then start this. When it has finished airing!
