3 ep only & I didn't even manage to finish this, sigh (stopped at ep 2). I can't connect with the characters nor felt their supposed to be love to eachother, everything feel rushed to me. Aside from their beautiful background, music, material, cinematography, visuals, I find there's something lacking with the built up of the characters story/background, from the way they spoke, behave & moment they shared, the characters feel way too modern & I feel empty watching it so yeah.. Although I feel bad for the cast since I love them all & hopefully I'll be able to finish them sometimes later but for now I think I'll drop this.
I completely agree with the ex-husband chemistry aspect BaeHelena. I find their interactions way more interesting…
While I still think that my above reply to Kim is still valid that the whole setup clearly had disadvantaged KJH position for being less social/background compatible than CSH & her ex husband had, hence people may see them as less compatible in background/chemistry wise than her with her ex-husband so it's a bit unfair to compare.
I do agree that I hope to see KJH & CSH relationship will go deeper as a man & woman as their relationship progressed later & see a more mature side of KJH (& yes that's include sex if they had to)
It'll be a challenge for PBG to have a breakthrough image from his pure flawless image he had right now (which I very much adore because seriously his real personality is truly something that everyone shd cherish) But as an actor, it'd widened his range to become a more versatile actor (even if I think that he already is rightnow)
Only time will tell if this drama will be heading that way or not, as for now I'll just sitback & enjoy watching this beautifully told drama.
As for their rating, don't worry, they're still going strong & stable at 9%, it's considered as spectacular since they aired on a paid cable tv channels and aired on weekdays (weekdays drama relatively had a far lower ratings than weekend drama ratings)

I think it's a bit unfair to compare them like that though, because her ex husband character didn't have to suffer this 3 major gap that Kim Jin Hyuk had to suffered:
1. Age gap: CSH is introduced as a more adult person while KJH is introduced as a fresh green grape, young & bright character 2. Social status gap: CSH is a CEO & KJH is her employee 3. Background gap: CSH is far wealthier than KJH is, they lived in a total different world.
So I think it's a bit unfair to say that CSH & her ex-husband had a better chemistry than her with KJH because ofc they should be that way since they had a way more compatible background, social status & suffered for the same exact controlling mother while KJH does not
But the beauty of this drama is to show us that the difference in them brings more color to their world even if other may see that they're incompatible to eachother.
I think a lot of people who find this drama boring/predictable is because they are not catching on to a lot of…
True, there's a lot simbolism shown in their scenes that portray a lot of greek mythologies/fairytales which I find very beautiful/ sad, something that we rarely find (almost none) in kdramas, it shows that they put a lot of thoughts when making this drama. Sad that some ppl might not catch their beauty & just stereotyping them as cliche without understanding there's an underlying meaning behind every little scene they shown.
Why do I keep getting this bittersweet feelings when watching this drama..
Jin hyuk may become Cha Soo Hyun's way of light to get a happier, meaningful life, the one who breaks her shell (like that one butterfly who keeps coming to awake the sleeping princess in the painting/animation they've shown in the ep)
but they may or may not ended up together (butterflies had a very short lived) And her ex husband may become her very end game here.
To those who wonder if they're cliche, I don't think they are.
My fav cw drama right now, I can't believe why there's not much ppl watching this, like I can't digest it, because this one is soooo good. You guys are missing out some really good ones
People on Watchasian have said that the plot is cliche. Does anyone on here agree? I kinda want to wait before…
If you're talking about the plot, some may said it's cliche because they had this prejudice & think that every romance drama will be that same old same drama filled with every romance thrope, like bickering, break up, getting together etc.
But from what I've seen, this drama had some points that makes them special:
1. Plot: Here the role is reversed. There's a very minimal amount of drama where the guy is poor & the girl is rich like the one we got here, so it's refreshing to see. 2. Characters: There's a very minimal amount of drama where both FL & ML are nice & kind person with a sincere heart like the one we got here, none of them rude & bossy, unlike many other dramas may had, for the sake of character's development they may said. 3. The story telling: it's beautiful, subtle, filled with nuance & warm feelings, poetic, almost feels like a fairytale. This is the kind of show that makes your heart feel. 4. Beautiful cinematography with lots of great ost/ background music 5. Stellar acting from the casts: not much talking but their eyes said it all.
Imo, just watch their first two ep & decide it your own if you're liking it or not. As for me, am loving it so far & think it has potential to be a great romance/heartwrenching drama.
Lmao you're absolutely biased just go and enjoy bf which got the typical and predictable plot that everyone know…
Well obviously you're just one of those typical rabid fans who can't take any criticism on your bias works, lol. I won't reply to you further because it isn't worth my time to reply to someone who can't talk maturely with an open mind. What I'm saying above is the truth of what I saw on ep 1. No matter how much I love the writer & head over heels of her works on Nine (I gave her a 10). Ep 1 was a total dissapointment with a very bad characterization.
I kinda understand you. The male acting is too bright (always smiling)The female acting, I'm okay with it.Similar…
See? That's why I called it's just a prejudice. Because so far from their first two ep, I loved what I've seen.
As for their upcoming ep, we'll only know it later when we see it, let's not make an early assumption.
As for the writer, I won't let it bother me too much, because imo a famous writer is often get lazier than those who's still in their early days, even a fav writer of mine too. Although I'm not fond of this writer's works esp in dramas but from what I hear she make some really good movies too, so there's still a hope.
Am actually liking the fact that they put more focus on the OTP rather than the side characters too, because that way I'll drawn to root for the OTP & feel invested in their characters more, I prefer that way rather than wasting too much airing time for some side roles which's often used as fillers in shows.
Lol, what did I just watch? Am actually quite surprise to see how high their rating here. Ep 1 was a total mess, it's ridiculous & boring.
I had to see him wandering around & complaining about his hotel in Granada for 30min and had to see him in another 30 min with another repetitive battle which I find uninteresting, great CG but nothing else.
Then, on top of that, the characterization are sucks as well, Hyun Bin's is playing another jerk chaebol & PSH is playing her usual pushover roles. Like, this is 2018, I'm tired to see this kind of roles, just so outdated.
Am very surprised to see how bad it was & I can't believe this is the works of my fav writer from Nine. Writer-nim, I'm very2 dissapointed. Ep 2 need to get way better than ep 1 was otherwise I'll be dropping this like a hot ball.
I kinda understand you. The male acting is too bright (always smiling)The female acting, I'm okay with it.Similar…
Well, I think it's just a prejudice, they will be if you take a look at this drama just on the surface, while actually they put so much attention to detail in this drama, made the scene more meaningful, heartwarming & poignant. From their first two ep I can already tell that this drama gonna be a beautiful heartwrenching/ bittersweet one.
Maybe this post will help enlighten their meaning a lil' bit & see them from a new perspective:
I'm so waiting for the new episode but I can't find it not even the raw version.
Oh, I watched them live on friday (hardly can't wait x'p) the raw was probably out on Sat morning & eng sub will probably out on Monday (given the Indo sub has released today/released on Sun)
It's dull. the acting of both lead is also abit subpar for my taste.
I beg to differ, both acting & the drama itself is great, gives you depth, nuance & warmfeelings to their characters and story, they're anything but dull for me
Shim Deok is probably drawn to Woo Jin b/c he is intelligent, inspirational, likes noodles, and looks a lot like…
Lol, you got me on he looks a lot like Lee Jong Suk, points taken x'D. Yea, I hope it gets better & they will have enough development so their tragic end wouldn't came out as weird / make no sense. I want their love to be worth to die for rather than just crushing over somebody but died with him at the end.
Loved both actors but 1st ep (out of 3) has been a dissapointment for me. Somehow I couldn't connect with any of the characters, like nada, none. For example, I don't understand why Shim Deok drawn to Woo Jin & fell for him. Idk if it's only me, but I hope ep 2 will get better than the 1st ep was.
