yeah I do think the writers are setting something up between them. It's giving enemies to lovers and I like it.…
Yes that’s what I hope for. In the book he’s written better than the drama depiction. And since they are not following it to a T, there’s hope for an interesting romantic development here
I actually do hope that Ye Xian ends up with Xue Qinglan.
In the book he does get married (not XQ , some other girl) and at the start of the marriage he seems irritated that she even breathes. But by the end of the book, a servant comes to tell him that she’s cleaning his study. He gets pissed off and said something like “even pregnant she can’t sit still” and immediately sets off for home. I would have loved a bonus chapter on their relationship. I imagine it’s quite cute and funny lol
Ep 18 - When did it skip to nearly three years of mourning, having gone past for FL???
Right!,in the book it was only a year so it made sense but 3 years?! In an era where being 19 and unmarried is a taboo (Xue Qinglan is considered old and she’s 19), with this scale where does that put our female lead? 16? So he was into her at 13? It’s the little things they didn’t iron out.
Usually when they redo re birth type of novels and remove that aspect of the novel they do it so that they can create their believed happy ending. Like I haven’t seen an instance where they’ve done otherwise. Also, these types of storylines tend to have a happy ending both in the novel and in the drama.
Does anyone notices that the eng sub for splendid match is Abit off like not exactly right ? Am I the only one…
If you are streaming it from another website that shall not be named, they are getting their subtitles from MangoTV and MangoTV has the worst English translations typically
I don't understand that either, how can a child adopt another child?
In an ancient times, sometimes to honor the young that died early they would find someone to adopt into the bloodline of that person. So the fifth son, that died, will be able to carry on his bloodline through the adopted son CX
Can anyone who read the novel tell me if the lil sociopathic peacock (Ye Xian) is related to the royal family…
Technically, in the book he has an aunt who is a concubine of the emperor. Because his family is known to be really loyal, the concubine in the Empress get along very well because technically his family supports the crown prince. They are staunch loyalist. And a Marquis is top three in nobility. In the book, though he has a better relationship with his family.
