ugh this was excellent. Although I have to admit I found myself rooting hard for the empress. She was so kind and yet suffered so much, plus the actress made her so likable.
Actually, if you observe more you can see they dynamic change during their trip to Germany. During the elevator…
In my world there is no appropriate time to date a friend's ex. It is a disloyal act and creates a multitude of confusing scenarios. Were you my friend because you wanted to be around my man? Were you guys cheating on me when we were together? Can I trust you around my next boyfriend? It is something women do not do to each other if you truly value your girl's friendship
I wish I had watched this live because I feel like it would have been great to place bets as a watch family on how many people are adopted. I know I would have lost. This is not a spoiler btw

Love isn't logical but the writers presumably are. There is a way to write a woman who has decided to fall for a guy and wrapping her falling for him around the betrayal of a friend makes it sting for me. It makes her choice seem fallacious and rooted in pain as opposed to joy. This is just my humble opinion but I think the writing is a disservice to the portrayal of smart business women
I really like the lead actors but this drama was written by people who do not like women. Which is why I had to drop the show at episode 22 The reason I dropped the show at ep 22 is cos on the same night the FL finds out one of her best friends is dating her ex is the same night she hooks up with her boss. There was no reason for her to hook up with her boss that night. They had not developed an intimate relationship beyond him doing things for her she needed financially, they did not have easy conversations and she had given no indication she was interested in him. But the writer thought that her hurt at her friends betrayal was a valid reason to hook up with ML.
Women writers who like and support women do not 1. Make all the villains in the show women (and make those villains participate in pimping out their employees, treating the female employees worse and sabotage other women's businesses) 2. Do not make female friends betray each other (yes hooking up with your besties ex is betrayal) 3. They do not turn a sexy business woman into a dummy who blindly follows a man who gives her no information about himself 4. They do not push male characters pursue women when they have been told not to especially when the female characters says she has a boyfriend. 5. And then there were business decisions made by all female leads that were so dumb it boggles the mind
Anywhoo I try to enjoy dramas where women are portrayed as fully formed characters or in a positive light and this was not it. Do not recommend if you like women
So to any newcomers, I'd just like to let you know this show ends on ep 33. I know it says 36, but you don't need those episodes. Stop watching at ep 33
