In the novel he is rather violent as a Master and Cold and critical most of the time. Granted, her character is pretty nonsensical and rebellious in most of the 1st half. I much perfer how this drama and the actors are portraying the characters. They are much more likable and you are better able to understand them.

Her character in the book in the beginning or first half was pretty annoying too, but I do like Ren Min. I hope we will be able to tolerate or like the female lead character though. I really don't like baby voices (when it is not a toddler) either.
They changed Deng Wei's styling again. He looks pretty good, but I hope that they will go back to his previous style that we love. This new one is more like his older characters.
