Through S1 and S2, Xijun character attested to be more than just the girl for the protagonist. Not to be the eye…
Well said! Xijun has shown multiple times how intelligent she is. She's from a famous family so she knows show to conduct herself as such but beyond that she's really smart, as expected from an affluent upbringing.
The actress Gao Si Wen who played her wrote this on the Weibo (idk Chinese I just do google translate) that did a great job breaking down her character. In it, she wrote that Xijun "dares to love and hate" and that to me explains her relationship with Lulu a lot. She loves him but never dare to back down from voicing her opinions. https://m.weibo.cn/status/506375538449703
I thoroughly enjoyed her character and was really happy to know more about her character this season.
The same with Ying Tao. she's super strong and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience from the Jiang Hu. Plus, that little tidbit about her being SWM's disciple when she was examining the corpse in the last case? I can't wait to see her character more fleshed out in the next season!
both the mls didnβt show any affection towards girls β¦ its kinda like they are using them for there purpose…
I'm the opposite. Lulu cares about Xijun but bc he's not the overly affectionate type, most of the time it's Xijun leading the relationship. As seen when he stood outside her room to let her know he's there but not actually knocking on her door to invite her to go have fun. Or when he buys her a surprise gift, letting her paint him at night, listen to her advice, takes her along to solve cases etc.
If you compare S1 to S2, he's actually a lot more affectionate towards her this season and reciprocates her feelings in different ways than how we're used to in romantic dramas. Plus, this is a case solving drama so I like that they keep the romance very subtle.
As for SWM x YT I'm still a bit iffy about their romantic relationship. To me it's more like a father with his daughter bc of the way he's always telling her to mind her actions or lower down her temper. I'm just glad theres not a lot of these scenes and when they did I just try to look say it
I agree that sometimes Lulu and SWM needs to apologize for their actions or words but in my head I imagine they do this off camera πππ»
No complaints about SWM character, love him from the start till the end of S2. Heβs still wise, calm, witty,…
I agree. I actually enjoy watching YZG's performance of Su Wuming πππ»
Btw I'm rewatching everything from episode 1 but can someone explain the whole snitching situation in ep 7.
I know SWM snitched to save LLF but I still don't understand how? The emperor could easily kill LLF if he wants to and wouldn't if make sense to kill him off vs sending him far away from Chang An? I don't understand how SWM snitching ruined the emperor's plan.
And I don't understand the point of the conversation between SMW and the Crown Princess at the pagoda. What's the significance here? I don't know Chinese, so I only watch sub. Maybe things got lost in translation.
So now that s2 is finished, which case was everyone's favorite?
In terms of entertainment, I really enjoyed Mo's Inn. There were lots of twists and turns and it was the first case where we had the whole gang together.
In terms of plot and writing, death of the coroner was a more gripping storyline. It got me when Dugu was writing the letter to his wife π
Overall, I enjoyed the cases but I wish they showed how each case was concluded better. For example, what happened to the dude who was using Ami, what happened to all the ladies in the Li Yun case, and what happened to Li Chi and the second aunt and her husband in the last case?
They kind of left it to our imagination.
But overall I thoroughly enjoyed this season bc each case was more than just getting the bad guy convicted. There was always a deeper meaning/message behind each case!
I just wanna give a special shout-out to the child actors, the little boy and girl, in the last case. They were so adorable. And that interrogation scene when the tears fell down her eyes π
The Su Wuming and Yingtao romance they try and do still feels incredibly bizarre to me I really have no idea why…
I still think the romance line between them is a bit weird so I just tune it out most of the time. I'm happy they don't shove it down my face and keep it very light!
Maybe itβs already popular considering what Xijun said in the latest episode Ep 34 causing quite a stir, up…
That's such a cute ship name!!!
TBH I didn't really like Xijun in the beginning of season 1 but came to really adore her close to the ending of the 3rd case. We can't always have the guy chasing the girl in cdramas now can we? We need strong headed women like Xijun too π
And π― on the small romance here and there. I can't stand cdramas where everything center around the main couple after they get together π
Oh snap! Express package!!... I'll come back in a few hours lol
I was gonna bring watch the whole thing today but loved this show so much and want to continue enjoying it some more so will continue to do the 2 episode per day thing!
To reply @Drama_fluff I think some fans got defensive over LuLu and misunderstood Xijun all the way. Yup, there…
I totally get why Xijun said what she said! She was speaking on behalf of the victims and understanding LLF, he will probably try to convict the victims bc they technically did kill Li Yun and my guy has a strong sense of justice so he will probably put them in jail.
But I just watched today's episode and saw how they handled the case and I thought it was the right call. It can be said that this is an episode to give LLF some character growth bc it's different from how he handles a case. As @holic89 mentioned down below, "Is the truth the same thing as justice?β ππ»

I love Xijun! She's so cutie patootie π₯Ί And I think I know what they will do. Iin the ending song you see LLF and SWM bowing on their knees in front of a building. I think they will beg the magistrate (or someone idk who) not to convict these women. But yes I can't believe Li Yun played all these women. Yikes! I feel bad for Changle π’

OMG are you talking about the part where she threatens to leave LLF if he puts the maid in jail? TBH I feel it is out of character for her to say that considering how much she loves him (u know...bc she followed him all the way to that one city in S1). Like this small thing is going to make her leave him? π€¨ It feels like the screenwriters added it simply to add angst but I'm a sucker for LLF x PXJ drama so I'm not complaining about this crumb π π»

Holy crap there is going to be a season 3! OMG I'm so freaking excited!!! π±π±π₯Ή

This show knows it's priorities
In this scene and the scene with Mudang, I can tell he had Xijun in his thoughts π₯Ί
