Hankiz is pretty but she is as stiff as a wood when it comes to acting. The other princess, Ge Xin Wei, is more…
There's a scene in episode 7 when she's in a flashback with her deceased mother where she's like a human mannequin! Just the most stilted acting. No wonder her looks are played up so much as she's all fur coat and no knickers.
The supporting cast are much better, even some of the servants.
inmo for a villain he is pretty boring because-again- he is not a villain just an obsessed man. I am on ep 18…
How is someone who falsely imprisoned her, took away her martial arts, murders her family. then childhood friend in front of her and rapes her twice NOT a villain? 😕
First of all I’m so glad Zhao Jia Min is getting consistent lead roles and starting to pump out like 5 a year…
Well said. I thought I was going crazy for thinking that the ML was wooden and bland, but nope I was seeing it for what it is. There should be a spark between them, like in Rising Feather but there's nothing there from his side. Such a shame when the actress is so skilled but she's not got someone oppossite her on the same level to play off of. Like listening to a duet but only one singer can sing 😞 These dramas have such similar clichés that strong chemistry is barest minimum of things to expect but this has me grasping at straws, looking for a secondary couple to ship. What a shame.
I've despised Tang Yan's acting in every project I've seen of hers but people raved about her in Blossoms Shanghai…
I don't blame you. She also tends to portray a lot of Mary Sue type characters so that puts me off as well. Imagine possible improvement to acting only once middle age has set in? 😲
Um ok...ML is a bit deranged in the head😅But somehow I can't stop watching 🤦♂️
'A bit' deranged in the head is an understatement to say the least! Guy is giving her love bites and kissing her against her will. I will agree that this dynamic is strangely addictive, though in the vein of those alpha bad boy meets good girl tropes.
she didn't act like she was in jail for 4 years, more like in boarding school.
IKR?! Accurate! I'm seeing this in The Substitute Princess Love (suffering, more like) and she doesn't behave at all like the backstory they gave her. Honestly, even fanfic writers do better characterisation 🤦♀️ Main times I see stronger FLs is when they're villains, guest stars or leads in a much shorter drama (like less than five minutes per episode).
The way they meet each other is so lame they could have let her stay until he comes home to meet her.I feel tired…
I agree that he could've let her stay! It's getting so dragged with their dynamic out that I'm tired. It also seems a 180 from how he was when he didn't know she was his bride, she carried his wounded self to safety, treated him with her own pricey medicine originally meant for her and how he was loyally waiting for her to return from fetching water for him. Least he could do is let her stay.
everyone is talking about dropping, thinking of dropping, or dragging their feet on finishing. how is this rated…
Some people strangely rate a series before they've finished it and also overrate series as well. I've seen mediocre and worse than that series get eights and nines just because it ended happily.
such a big claim it’s not a fact, it’s only your opinion. majority of the people will disagree.
I never stated it as a fact, btw 😕 Majority of people? About Disney declining? It depends who's asked as there's highly viewed videos bashing them on YouTube.

I agree with you that the old title was better.

Anyone know the song used in the trailer, btw?
🤣Said the same thing about Empire of Lust!
