They didn’t send people just to serve him out of the goodness of their heart. They all had a mission to have his babies and kill him or continue to seal him. All they want is his blood. Imprisoning someone for 500 years, he didn’t even the ability to kill himself, lived with physical piercing pain, sending him women to sleep with does not make you an innocent party. I honestly do not see anything innocent about the people he killed.

I like FL, but her weak spot is Ruling . She actually hasn’t even taken the time to know her as a person, but she already sees her as a bff. They have been hanging out but she hasn’t asked Ruling any deep questions to trust her like she does.
I wish they made this part more believable as a modern day person, who watched movies and dealt with office politics , I don’t think she should be this trusting in a new world full of everyone and their mother trying to kill someone. At least get to actually know Ruling as a person to gauge whether her support has been real or performative. She also advised snake to take on Ruling as master, I knew that would be trouble.
With this part they went the traditional Xianxia way, of FL being like an innocent, pure, trusting person who just turned into human form with no experience of life or something lol.

I think Zhao Lusi would have been perfect for this role, she does comedy well. But that doesn't take away from Wang Ying Lu. Loving her in this role. I like both actresses, first time seeing Wang Ying Lu. She is good too, hope she gets more lead roles.

There is more than one villain. Each villain is revealed at different stages of the drama and dealt with at different stages.

Honestly if you don’t find XZ’s acting outstanding when you only have a few more episodes to go, I don’t think you are going to change your mind.
For me he completely nailed this role from beginning to end. His micro expressions, his chemistry with all the characters, there are some scenes that I just said “wow”. I think he deserves an award for this role.

I like how they both move on with their lives, tired of those dramas that are written that one lead hasn’t dated for 10yrs waiting for that one person it’s so unrealistic.

I am curious how they going to get together though they have so much chemistry.

Army personnel do get slaughtered in these type of dramas not unique to this drama. Unfortunately it also happens in real life, army is sent to fight these politician's wars.
