honestly i just skipped all the brother couple scenes cause who wrote their storyline š it literally made me…
Agree. Even as someone who has watched the step sibling/ adoptive relatives trope this one was the worst due to the SA. Just canāt enjoy that type of media š
Ming Yi has suffered so much emotional manipulation and is told she is only worth anything if she can provide/meet…
I agree that the writer could have handled it better., I think it was only explored during the soul sacrifice episode . From the trailer they may start to explore that/tie up the storyline from episode 24
Ming Yi has suffered so much emotional manipulation and is told she is only worth anything if she can provide/meet…
I get where youāre coming from, but I think itās unfair to say that only Ji Boazi is making an effort. Ming Yi has literally risked her life for him multiple times; sheās been poisoned, sheās on her last flower leaf, and yet she still chooses to protect and help him.
During the soul sacrifice with Lord Hanfeng, she had every chance to reveal the truth, but didnāt, not out of deceit, but because of deep-seated fear and trauma.
Sheās spent her entire life hiding who she is to survive, being told her worth depended on living a lie. Expecting her to suddenly unlearn all that and fully trust someone, even someone as genuine as Ji Boazi, feels unrealistic. Sheās not withholding the truth out of malice; itās coming from insecurity, guilt, and the lifelong conditioning that being herself would destroy everything. That deserves understanding, not frustration.
Opinions on Ming Yi below. I think the hate is lowkey forced.
Ming Yi has suffered so much emotional manipulation and is told she is only worth anything if she can provide/meet her parents' expectations. I think people forget that she has had to hide her true self (female) since birth. Her mother made it seem like she gave birth to a boy and raised her with love that was very much conditional. Maybe why she loves the spring onion pancakes so much, cause her mother gave them to her before her matches.
I think it's very valid for her to be scared to expose her true identity. It doesn't end with her saying that she's Ming Xian, but also holds consequences for her realm, as well as, instead of a crown prince, they had a princess. She's literally holding the weight of the world on her shoulders.
I sometimes think Ji Boazi had the better end of the stick cause, although he has suffered immensely, he hasn't experienced parental heartbreak. This is bad, as it makes you feel worthless because you are expecting something that is never given. Whereas Ji Boazi learnt to never expect anything from anyone. Not tryna say one is better than the other. But people refusing to acknowledge Ming Yi's Suffering and abandonment issues is crazy lol.
Effin mingyi. Its my first time hating a FL on a drama to be honest she had lots of opportunities to be honest…
To add on to what is said below, Ming Yi has her family to think of, too! If any other people accidentally find out and it spreads, then there will be bigger consequences. Also, her not telling him about the poison is probably because she doesn't want to disappoint him. He said everyone wants the golden millet dream, but you, which is why she continued to keep quiet, because she was shocked at how much she trusted him.
This show has gotten SO much better, wow!! I've just caught up, and what a great couple of episodes they were!
I'm glad Yan Xiao was a double agent, ahaha, I was really scared and concerned for a bit there. Situ is also still good, which makes me happy because it would have been such a shame to go with the 'has a inferiority complex, so we will turn him evil cause he can't get the girl' route!
Tbh I understand why Ming Yi is still hesitating tbh, cause she doesn't want to disappoint him. Also very confused with the trailer for the next episode, does Ji Boazi turn against her? cause i would have thought he would help her, unless she is still deceiving him and tries to steal it. Anyway, excited for tomorrow's two episodes.
I dropped after the first episode cause one trope I HATE is when the ML abuses FL way too much and humiliates her, using the SML to help as well. like nothing can justify that, and for them to even end up together?? no thanks
It's a shame, cause i saw ML in Generals order and thought he was pretty handsome and wanted to check out his other work.
Played FL's maid in Generals Order and really liked her acting in that, and it was nice as I think sometimes her acting appears very bland. I've watched many of her drama's and it feels like she plays the same character.
I've already submitted the update on MDL, but not sure how long it takes to be approved.
So on X someone said they think Yan Xiao maybe on Ji Baoziās side? What do people think? Iāve been wondering maybe he isnāt all bad (even though its clear he sided with evil for his own protection? Maybe he thought he needed to elevate his class/position)?
Can u give me some spoilers on why she was neglected and the family preferred the adopted sis?
Her brother caused a fire that killed someone when he was 6 and struggled with the guilt. Then when he turned 12 his family went to a fortune teller who said they need to atone for their sins so they adopted the dead mans daughter. They gave her literally everything that belonged to their daughter. Mistreated bio daughter and and treated adopted daughter as a princess (so they could atone). The adopted daughter also sets up the bio daughter alot
