I am soooo behind on the Lives. The one where the boys did flower arranging and the one where WHD is rocking cinnabar on his cheek - I haven't seen either of those either. I did really enjoy the one where there was a cardboard cutout or Esther/Orchid.

I don't know, people are weirdly defensive on the internet. I was joking around yesterday and someone thought I was body shaming Jackie Li. I was like "Whoa, that escalated quickly. I thought we were just laughing together about cheesy Titanic re-enactment scenes." I am always very intrigued by the relationship between actors that need to do force scenes, whether physical violence or sexual violence. I mean think about how intimate this scene actually is. He HAS to know her: her tone of voice, how she carries herself, her breathing. She is struggling against him and he needs to be able to distinguish between that and if she is actually uncomfortable. And professionalism aside, that requires a certain level of trust for her to feel comfortable with him handling her like that. I feel like being required to do a scene like this can't help but result in a stronger friendship.
Right? Such a simple gesture. It is something I have always appreciated about him. He has a hyperkinetic nature and is unfailingly polite. It is things like this where he combines his respectful nature with his playfulness that I continue to support him.

Oh, 100%. I also tied the symbolism of each color choice and other aspects of his wardrobe up in trees in China. Like you mentioned the light brown when he is feeling affectionate, but it is also moments when he is exposed (like when his heart tree is healing and he yells at her or orders Jieli's murder. This reddish brown color lines up with the Paperback Maple which has a duller color over bark, but is constantly peeling/exfoliating itself to reveal the rusty brown color underneath. Or the Yunnan Pine (1st Moon Supreme's name was Yannv) You know me, I tend to write dissertations. But I think this one would add some support to your thinking here.
