I am half Literature professor, half snarky Statler and Waldorf peanut gallery. Though you most likely already guessed that from our conversations over the past week.
There is so much poetry and symbolism in this whole show, that I really want to just do a binge rewatch with someone and stop it every 7 minutes like an annoying Literature teacher, "Now did you notice that? Do you realize what that signifies?"
Am I the only one appreciating the poetry of the Chengying Sword and XLN's orchid being featured together in the same scene? When DFQC brought the orchid back to his room and is just smelling it, while Shangque brings in the tray of shards sans missing piece.
Face-palms as I realize HOW she is going to slit her wrist for him to drink her blood! It isn't like our girl is the most violent individual. And she wouldn't even have a dagger for protection. She has Bone Orchid for that and even if she didn't, she still wouldn't carry one.
So he is going to revive himself/come back to consciousness being able to read her thoughts. No wonder he grabs her and kisses her.
What I need in my life right now: A cut of "Who are you calling casual" followed by all their sweet moments interspersed with bickering and soooo much eye game.

1 - My absolute desire for Orchid to turn to the audience and say “I’m going to make out with the Moon Supreme now. Are you just going to watch from there?” in response to his tone of voice and open facial expression when he said “Don’t move” the second time. 2 - DFQC saying XLN is pregnant and having cravings for ice cream. 3 - THAT cocky grin and eyebrow (from when he destroyed the Pearl of Heaven forcing XLN to see CH choose duty over her, while DFQC choose her with no hesitation) making its return. 4 - Melting at both of their smile’s at the second, “Why are you still angry with me, honey?” 5 - Both of their panicked, vulnerable and desperate faces in response to her “Who are you calling casual?” 6 - DFQC sitting under his Love Tree in full bloom and sparkling like diamonds.
Honorable Mention of the Day: Xianxia Regina George Moment
Laughing like a demented cross between a machine-gun and a hyena. Squealing like a fangirl. Kicking at invisible things that frustrate me and losing my balance. Desperately needing to find a way to strangle Jieli. Desperately needing to find a way to hug Jieli. Desperately needing to biff DFQC across the back of the head the way Gibbs does to Tony. Having trouble breathing as DFQC actually gets some moves right. Actually rolling on the floor laughing. Actually face-palming. Turning a certain four letter word into a nonsensical nursery rhyme where it functions as an adjective 12 times, an adverb 7 times and a verb a decent handful of times.
