Not gonna lie, the ML was so selfish when she was telling his about her problem, he didn't give a f*ck and dismissed…
Ultimately, after reading through so many comments I came to the conclusion that this drama just can't please everyone πŸ˜† from reading most of the negative feedback on chinese social media, it was clear that people were unhappy that the female lead isn't invincible and that she's not superwoman.

They were already so pissed that our male lead won the maths comp, because apparently this is supposed to be a strong female led drama and in the novel lin zhi xia never loses. So imagine if jiang yu bai took over the conversation and told her exactly what to do at work, despite not having uni experience, how bad the backlash would be πŸ˜†

Anyway that aside, I got the feeling from the gist of the convo between lzx and jyb is, lzx already knew what to do, she just needed some steering to see that she already had the solution. Jyb was just dropping hints so she could see it, without him directly telling her what to do. I don't think that's a bad thing at all, because he respects her enough to let her solve her own issues in her own way rather than telling her how to do things. After all she has a phd, and he probably thinks she has more experience. He hasn't been through uni or done any research projects with others, why should he be telling her what to do πŸ˜…

As a native mandarin speaker, I watched it without eng subtitles and I actually didn't get the feeling that he was being dismissive at all. I feel like the direct translation to eng sometimes distorts the feeling and vibe of the interaction lol He was listening to her the entire time, by getting her to hand him the tools and engaging her in what he's doing as well, he was getting her to feel and think calmly. I thought he was trying to trying to make a point that her feelings and mood are the most important here.

Anyway sorry for the long ass analysis πŸ˜†

I started this drama not knowing what to expect. Honestly, the synopsis doesn't reveal too much, but I love it!

I love not knowing where the story is going. Yu aoi is brilliant as always, and Nakajima ayumu is so different here compared to his villain role in Straight to hell. They both have so much chemistry.

The only bad thing is netflix is slowly releasing episodes just to torture us! Argh 🫠

All these dramas promoting university degree thinking it's the only way to be successful and rich, but so many…
Yes unfortunately, in some asian countries, going to university is a minimum requirement. A degree and the type of university you go to could affect the rest of your life, your status, whether people respect you, your job and marriage prospects etc.

You could be making a lot of money, more than a uni grad but people will still look down on you if you don't have a degree. It sucks and I don't agree with it, but yea that's how it is πŸ₯² That's why students study like crazy over there and the pressure and competition is immense.

The drama isn't necessarily trying to promote that idea, it's just reality for a lot of young people out there. And if you're making a drama based on chinese schooling, it has to be as accurate as possible.

Can any currently watcher say how they are liking this drama? I'm debating if I should start it. All I have been…
I don't think his looks bothered me that much here. He looks mature but certainly not a big deal like some are making it out to be.

Besides, they grow into adulthood at some point so it's not that out of place.

And yes to your question, it's worth a watch. I think this is one of my favourites this year 😍

I guess everything else was great for me so it didn't bother me too much. I didn't even realise the trees and sea gulls were ai generated tbh πŸ˜† I wasn't looking hard enough there.

Unfortunately, i think this is the direction iqiyi dramas will be taking in the future. From their conference a couple of months ago, it seems like they'll be doing a lot more experimenting lol They are already looking into replacing their affiliated actors with ai. A lot of people kicked up a fuss with the ai opening credits for overdo, and now almost all iqiyi dramas have ai openings, whether the audience likes it or not.

FL is so fucking cringe - that overly soft voice is so fake and annoyingAlso the FL has Aspergers or some shitSo…
Do you hate life? Does being a nuisance give you joy? Do people generally avoid you? I don't think there's anything wrong with the Fl, but there's definitely something not right with you.

Seems like the only reviews you give are shitting on other dramas. And if you thought Art of Sarah was "really bad", when it was one of the best kdramas this year and the lead actress just won an award for best actress... you sure are one of a kind. But not in a good way, mind you πŸ™„

This is so foolish….. I believe that in a competition everything should be fair game to win as long as it’s…
I don't think lzx was unhappy for being "betrayed". She's upset because she chose to go ahead with the strategy she thought was best as an individual, rather than trust in her teammate's suggestion. She was overly confident and never thought that her team would lose. Probably because she never truely lost before. She did win the MVP individual award though, but lost as a team. She realised that by putting herself first, she had let her team mates down. Hence she didn't go to school afterwards because she was too embarrassed to face them.

I don't understand why Wu Jia Kai doesn't have more dramas as ML. He would be great in a romance drama as the…
I think he's a good actor, very natural and great at light comedy. In some angles, he reminds me of satoh takeru. I guess it's not easy to go from supporting to lead, it depends on connections and if investors are willing to invest. Also considering how cold the market is now and how competitive the industry is, a lot of actors are short of jobs.

Probably better to slowly build his resume and popularity as a supporting actor and get a steady stream of jobs than become lead and get bashed by the internet. It's like once you become lead and have to carry a drama, a different set of standards now apply.
