I still think most 2MLs I've seen don't end up with anyone, even recent ones. And I doubt they'd give Do Han a loveline because this is SK we're talking about, and this is not a BL (and it's not a serious drama like Move To Heaven, for instance, which devoted an entire episode to this issue). That's why I think they'll go a different route with him (unless this was a Netflix drama, then it'd be more likely).

But I could 100% be wrong. If so, I will stand corrected. :)

After episode 1, not gonna lie, I like both FL's and ML's introduction. Shameless cunning 🀣When she was singing…
But Do Han is not the ML, right? He's the 2ML, and often 2MLs don't end up with anyone or get a loveline (that's the majority of the time, wouldn't you say? At least in dramas I've seen; and if the 2ML does love someone (usually the FL), they can't be with them). I imagine instead Do Han's arc will be gaining confidence in being open with his family and being accepted as a good head of the company despite his sexual preferences.

I haven't read the webtoon, but that would be my guess; I also think people may be disappointed if they expect a South Korean rom-com to deal with this issue in a thoughtful way since it's aiming for funny and goofy, not profound social critique (kind of like how people wanted Dr. Slump to deal with depression, but it was mostly a plot device for the MC). 2MLs are usually used as plot devices, too (like the friend of the ML in My Lovely Liar; similar deal), so I think there's a good chance that's what Do Han will be to some extent here, too. In that case I'd say it's not homophobic, but rather typical Kdrama 2ML cliches?

Wait I was going to watch this show but MDL mentioned Gay Male lead in tags so I wanna know if this is a BL series…
I think he's the 2ML, so he won't be the ML in the romance.

I remember in the webtoon comments in the first half ppl hated the ml and found him annoying but at the end of…
Kdramas (and perhaps webtoons, in this case?) are the best at writing unlikable MLs that turn into gems and/or who become much more likable versions of themselves... I could list so many dramas that fit this category (The King2Hearts, BOFs, Princess Hours, Secret Garden, What's Wrong With Secretary Kim, True Beauty, Dr. Romantic, I'm Not A Robot, etc. I could go on and on). Maybe it's all those years of practice writing many, many dramas with jerk chaebol heirs who fall in love with hard-working poor girls with good personalities. πŸ˜…

I'd say it's like Love Me Love My Voice : mature and expressive boyfriend VS prudish shy girlfriend. I don't remember…
Her voice when I first heard it made me think of those American actresses in the 30's who were in silent films then who had start filming talkies and everyone found out they had squeaky voices. πŸ˜… I did eventually get used to her voice in HL, and HL prepared me for Love Like The Galaxy. I was definitely distracted by it at first, too, though!

A thing that doesn't get mentioned enough - Knight Flower beat Red Sleeve's record of highest MBC fri-sat drama…
Agree about it being a cozy comment section! It's so refreshing! πŸ˜…

Her voice was similar in Love Like A Galaxy? I also think her younger self voice was definitely even more babyish in HL, but I thought that was just how the actress talked. πŸ˜…

I've struggled to get as into couples in dramas that draw heavily from a couple's past who dated/were married before in flashbacks (e.g. Our Beloved Summer, Welcome To Samdalri). It feels like you're missing a piece of the story and can never enjoy their present or become fully immersed in their current love because their past is where everything happened that made them care about each other.

One drama that managed to successfully (in my opinion) find a way to have former lovers/married couple fall in love again was Go Back Couple. Instead of doing many flashbacks to their "first past," they sent the characters back to the past to get a chance to "start over." I liked that it felt like we were starting from square one with them, and only later as they grew closer for the second time did they start showing flashbacks of how much they really cared about each other and why they loved each other so deeply the first time they fell in love (funny that WTS had the same screenwriter as GBC; but I think GBC is the superior drama).

Curious to see what this drama will do, since the trailer seemed to hint that, again, their past will either be shown very quickly at the beginning to introduce us to them before they dump their dysfunction on us or as flashbacks. So I'm a bit worried about how their romance rekindled in the present will land.

Um.... someone turns into fried chicken? ...mkay...

Has anyone read the webtoon? There's got be a reason this was greenlit. Maybe the synopsis is trolling us?

Also, the CG for this sounds like a nightmare, and expensive.

So, I think she was 20 when her maid/friend was found and at that point she was already a widow for three years, so I think she's supposed to be 33. I think the hairstyle aged this actress a bit, but I still thought she was lovely and her dimples were so cute. I liked her so much better in this than in Rebel: Thief Who Stole The People.

Not Korean, but I found it cute, too he he...if fits her character, too, 'coz she's mature for her age. She was…
Yes, that was a great moment. It fit well because it felt like an appropriately child-like approach to the scenario. πŸ˜… Everyone was missing the obvious. The writers must have glossed over the marriage by proxy (it was not super clear) in order to make this moment more fun and the climax more meaningful. πŸ˜„

I thought it was super cute! πŸ˜‚ It reminded me of 30 but 17 - Shin Hye Sun’s character calls a younger guy…
I didn't notice that!! But that's adorable. I don't think I was familiar enough with Korean when I saw that one to have heard it (and the translators probably didn't know how to translate that πŸ˜…). At least in this drama you got a hint in the subtitles because it translated as "Senior Ggot," but I also heard the "sunbae," too.

Ah, so good! Loved it! I love stories where the guy falls for the girl because of her values, intelligence, beliefs and character. He fell for her before even seeing her face properly, and admired her before they even met. πŸ₯° The only other drama that kind of reminds me of this where the romance stems initially from mutual respect and admiration for each other, where both are intellectual equals, is Sungkyunkwan Scandal, with a similarly strong FL with a love for the good. I like the FL in this even better because she is also compassionate.

P.S. Seok Jeong ended up being one of my favorite characters, but there were so many endearing ones!!
