I hope they actually try their best to wrap filming before the show airs instead of having it go on forever.

They seem to have broken up

I hope none tbh. Side couples (mostly their fans) just ruin shows for me.

Let me list them out:

1 - Khemjira's character: EXTREME DOORMAT. He's the one who's suffering from the curse but makes no proactive effort to figure out what caused it or how he can stop it. Everyone around him does stuff for him but he never takes any initiative himself. He's also presented as the ideal housewife - he cooks and cleans and never questions the other lead. He even cries if someone looks at him too aggressively. Such an infuriating character.

2 - The pacing: The plot is strong for the first few chapters. Then, literally NOTHING happens for the entire middle portion of the book and the plot only picks back up in the last 3-4 chapters.

3 - Instalove and lack of relationship development between the leads: Khemjira isn't even brave enough to look at Pharan in the eyes, let alone hold a mature conversation with him.

4 - Creepy age gap between the leads: Khemjira is 19 and Pharan is supposed to be 33 in the novel. The show seems to be correcting this by aging up Khem and aging down Pharan. But in the novel their relationship seems like father/son because of Pharan's commanding/authoritative nature and Khem's extreme submission. There are also no NC scenes in the novel, which is a good thing because of the age gap, but it did make their relationship feel very clinical.

I will say, I read the novel for this and it was a massive let down. Hope the show is better.

It's not like there haven't been any shows made about the Thai royal family. Plus if it is still a fafictional country, they can bypass a lot of the legal issues

It wasn't too bad in Your Sky but it's particularly grating here tbh

That's the issue though, we're just hearing about supposed attraction from other people and the show isn't doing enough to actually build Charan and Khanin's relationship. Does Khanin suddenly like Charan just because he protected him? What does he actually know about him?

Right now it seems like Khanin is just latching on to Charan because he's the only person he knows in Emmaly and not because he actually likes him.

From what we know of Khanin in the London episodes, he doesn't seem like the kind of person who would fall for someone randomly.

He's probably a nepo baby professor

Time for the people to rise and turn Emmaly into a democracy (imagine if the ending is with Khanin's head on a guillotine lol).

There are MAJOR issues with pacing in this series.

Also if, like the book, they want to focus on political intrigue, go ALL IN and focus on it. Almost like a Disney version of Game of Thrones.

Right now, it seems like the show doesn't know if it wants to be a romance or an intrigue show.

ThomasKong have been talking about Magic Lover more than usual these days and have been asking fans to look forward to it.

My guess is it'll start filming later this year and they might go into workshops as soon as KengNamping and JimmyOhm are done with filming Khemjira and TNP respectively.

Every show under DMD gets fanmeetings so Your Sky isn't an anomaly in this aspect. For the busking events etc, those only started once DMD saw Your Sky was picking up steam. Again, they had NOTHING before the show started and actors were doing promo themselves on Twitter, IG Live, TikTok etc.

I'm just asking out of curiosity, but what do you want DMD to do? You keep mentioning Your Sky, but they had ZERO promotions before their series aired. TMK had events yes, but nothing insane (same as the amount ZNN are having now, even less actually). A press conference and press tour to promote a new series is basic but Your Sky didn't get that either. I'd say the promotions for TNP so far with the animated posters, the intricate graphic design, the April 26th press conference, press receiving royal invites etc, are ALL 200 times more than what Your Sky got.

You want promos for JimmyOhm and NetJJ, but as far as I know, they've been getting events. Sure, maybe not as much as main couples in the company, but enough. NetJJ even got a whole TikTok series to launch them as a pair. You talk about the promo other 4th Gen cast members in Your Sky got, but they got all their events etc only AFTER Your Sky got popular, not before. People didn't even know AuauSave were going to be a couple in Your Sky until halfway through the show. Teetee's appearance was kept a total secret until when he actually showed up in the series.

As for events, they're all for the special episode only. With the way you're talking, people will expect that the Your Sky cast are still getting sent on variety shows and talk shows, but in reality they're just having two events for their special episodes since fans asked for it + the Your Sky fanmeeting. Again, it's common for successful shows from ANY company to have a dedicated fanmeeting. Also these events don't require that much focus from DMD. They will definitely have an Episode 1 fanmeet for TNP along with a full press tour + a whole ass documentary about Emmaly. Your Sky didn't even get an Episode 0 before it aired.

Also if fans are following DMD enough to watch pilot trailers and still didn't know Jimmy was in TNP, that's on them tbh.

I'm sick and tired of fans who turn everything into oppression olympics and mistreatment fanwars. Please touch some grass if the announcement of the release date of your favourite couple's show is making you upset instead of excited.
