I was never a secretary, but I've worked corporate and had a boss that was a bigger a-hole than this character; only worked at that location for 2 years but I gained a lot of experience and it also was one of the largest reasons why I got out of the corporate world. That director saw NM's potential herself firsthand, so I'm doubtful he had any hand in that especially since he was still belittling her about crawling back to him when she didn't find anything and failing. He's still putting her down even after she got the new job, like when he ran into her in the bathroom saying she shouldn't put on makeup because she looks like a monkey's behind. Broke 1 billion views on cn Tencent a few days ago. Seems to be doing pretty well on a lot of their charts. Promotion though is sluggish at best; Tencent isn't huge on promoting many of their dramas. They kinda let fans do it; which is annoying considering they're a multibillion dollar conglomerate.
