Seems only FL's master is trying to find out a mystery while everyone else is either chasing their own tails for power or stuck elsewhere. Occasionally some random Princess and our purple robed dude are chucked into the episode for 3 minutes just to confuse ppl. 8 episodes? Oy lord, I guess get the ffw button ready. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Xuan Lu is doing an awesome job as her; she's like the best advisor auto to a prince and BFF to our FL w/out judgment or prejudice. I'm so glad they didn't turn her into a gorilla glue character.

Could be. But even w/out time to film wuxia stuff, there's plenty of ways to write episodes to make them interesting; example, grow FL's royal character background more. Why give all this time to essentially 3 characters (king, queen, 3rd bro) that add nothing to the story except just lessen the effect of it? I'm speaking as an author/writer-novelist and someone's who's both written scripts and read/edited screenplays here in the US; there's a lot of ways to make a series still hit its marks w/out depriving it of its originality. By doing what they did, honestly I consider it as an excuse and laziness.

FC doesn't have that much. But 3rd bro def does and he's annoying as hell.

I think the FL was right on the money when she said she wasn't his secretary but his mother. That's really pathetic that that's what he requires at work and afterwards. Carmen Lee is a gem (veteran actress) and she's playing this character was well as she can but I feel like she could be more of an evil antagonist as opposed to just an annoying scheming one. This script really doesn't do her justice. There are a lot of cute and funny scenes in 19-22 and some just beyond dull.

Got to get to them first; according to the emojis those won't happen until we're in the 30s episode count wise. Seems like they will leave the bulk of this show to the last 10 episodes instead of dispersing moderately throughout.
