What's interesting is that you're trying to make me understand how my wording can be perceived by others. To be honest, I already know about the basics of communication. I would have gladly, GLADLY, exchanged about it with you in any other circumstance.

A spoiler is not the end of the world. I would never have been this annoyed if it weren't for everything that followed.

It's a again the same request for me to reconsider my wording and an explanation of your perspective.

Saying "I made a mistake" or "I accept that" is acknowledging responsibility, not apologizing.

I sincerely hope that the next time you make a mistake (and you will, because everyone does, myself included) you'll apologise to the other person first before moving on to explanations or discussions about communication. Now, let's try to get you into my shoes, so that you may, maybe, understand why I am a little hot-headed, right now :

Imagine I bump into you while you were minding your own business, and you get hurt.
When you call me out, saying it's really not nice, I decide to scold you for your reaction, because it was just an accident and I didn't do it on purpose. Nothing else.
When you call me out again for not apologizing, I insist again that you should have worded things differently. I then add that you should really try seeing the situation from my point of view.

Is that... okay? Is it normal that your first and only response to getting called out for a mistake is to make a comment on the other person's wording?

Anyway, you put a spoiler tag on your comment; that's all I wanted. Still got spoiled by you BY MISTAKE, but that's not important after all. What's important is that I should be more careful next time, so that I don't put mysterious hidden accusations behind my wording.
I will be very careful not to accidentally hurt the feelings of the person who just made a mistake that impacted me when I call them out. Even when they don't apologise, I should put myself in their shoes.

I think he lost his two elder brothers and father in Dart Mountain, but he had remaining family members who were still alive in WuXie's time. The executed guy could be one of them.

A family member who's like a brother, maybe a cousin? Or simply, he had another brother.

I'm kind of scared because we do know Wu LaoGou's story from WuXie's adventures... And it's dark. Maybe I'll just wait for the drama to end to see what they decide to follow or not with this adaptation.

The details of their story were never revealed in the novels, but WuXie assumed they dated and that his grandpa cheated on her with his grandma during his exile after the Purge, and they married.

Which made her hate him even through WuXie's generation. Wonder how it'll play in the drama.

I see a comment spoiling (you did not say what exactly happened, but as I said, reading your comment, anybody can immediately guess what it is about); I asked you to put a spoiler. How is that jumping to conclusions?

If I said, "I know you did it on purpose to ruin things for other people. You spoiled ep 14 to me, *add insult* ". That would be wrong, and maybe jumping to conclusions about your intentions. I did not. I asked you to put a spoiler tag and added that it was really wrong to spoil it for other people.

You made a mistake; that's okay. People tell you about your mistake and how to correct it because they got spoiled. That should be okay as well; it's not like anybody insulted you or anything.

The normal follow-up would be to apologise, explain it was a mistake as it was your first time posting, and that would be the end. Not to ask the person you just spoiled to "stop jumping to conclusions and at least ask before making assumptions".

I think QT left a clean shoe for his family to get something back "clean". Not his body, because he knew he would get ... by animals. He wanted to go back to nature, but still knew it would be traumatizing for his family to get only that.

People are just spoiling everything. And not the good fun type of spoiler that makes you want to watch the drama. Even though this watch is super worth it.

I really mean it. Don't read it.

It does feel a little different from the usual legal drama. Not in a groundbreaking or revolutionary way, but I really like the dynamic between the main trio.

It's very common in Japanese dramas for the "unconventional" protagonist to join a team and gradually change everyone around them for the better. They're usually met with skepticism or outright hostility at first, and then, episode by episode, they transform a dysfunctional workplace into a supportive one.

What's different here is that the "unconventional" protagonist joins a team and... they simply work together. They have different perspectives and working styles, but they discuss those differences like professional adults.

That's what makes this drama feel refreshing.

The male lead is "different," and he's struggled to find a place where he belongs. But the place he eventually finds isn't a group of secretly talented failures he helps rediscover their confidence, or a band of misfits he rescues from injustice, or a team that initially dismisses him because of his "difference" before eventually recognizing his brilliance.

Instead, he was recruited precisely because of his abilities. His speech impediment wasn't overlooked—it was known from the beginning and taken into account. He was accepted as he is. He ends up working alongside two experienced professionals who treat him as what he is: a talented rookie. They challenge him, exchange ideas with him, and respect him without making his "difference" the defining feature of every interaction.

And that's what I like so much.

Yes, his speech impediment is a significant part of his character, but I honestly feel this team would have functioned the same way whether he had it or not. His first real conflict with his senior isn't about his speech at all—it's about his overly passionate rookie mindset. He reflects on it, they talk it through, and they resolve it like... normal adults.

I'm not saying this is an ultra-realistic drama; the synopsis makes it clear that it isn't aiming for that. But I appreciate that, for once, it's a story about a genuinely good person who has been rejected by others, and the team that finally accepts him is simply... a team of good people.

Not because of some coincidence or lucky accident. It makes perfect sense. After being repeatedly rejected because of his speech impediment, the people who finally welcome him are open-minded enough not to judge him for it, and smart enough to recognize his talent without letting his difference get in the way.

I'm so used to dramas where the team has to "discover" that the protagonist is actually amazing despite—or because of—their quirk or difference. Somehow, every new group they meet has to go through the exact same realization.

Here, that part has already happened before the story even begins. The people who hired him already know he's brilliant. The drama isn't about proving his worth to his colleagues—it's about watching competent people work together. And, surprisingly, that feels much more refreshing than the usual formula.

Very GTO first episode.

It's just... I know high school dramas often cast young, inexperienced actors, and I genuinely enjoy that. I'm not lying, I love school dramas partly because it's fun to watch newcomers grow.

But what is this?

Surely there were auditions for the students' roles. Or at least some coaching on set. Seriously, what happened here? The line delivery from the main student is horrifyingly bad (the enunciation!). Every line is delivered with almost no facial expression or emotion.

I've completed 616 Japanese dramas and movies according to MDL, so I've seen my fair share of rough acting. But it's been a long time since I've seen a performance this soulless.

I would never leave a comment on Twitter, or anywhere this young actor might see it. He's a child. He was cast for a reason and did the job he was asked to do. The performance didn't work, but I don't think the responsibility lies with him. The adults on set (the director and the rest of the production team) should have been there to guide him. Coach him, do another take, try a different approach... something.

Every scene he's in feels off. It's like Sorimachi Takashi is acting opposite an audience member who was randomly invited on stage during an improv show. It genuinely looks like the intentionally bad acting you see in a comedy sketch.

What I'm struggling to understand is how the production was happy to release this. This is the first episode of a new entry in the hugely successful GTO franchise. What were the director and the team thinking?

I watch all kinds of trashy J-dramas with questionable acting, but this is the first time I've actually felt angry. I honestly don't know how it ended up like this. Was there no coaching? No direction? No one who looked at the footage and thought, "We need another take"?

It almost gives the impression that everyone simply accepted it because it's GTO and people would watch anyway. Of course, I have no idea what happened behind the scenes, but that's unfortunately how it comes across as a viewer.

I'm genuinely disappointed. One weak performance isn't going to ruin the drama for me, and I'll definitely keep watching. But I'm disappointed in the direction and the production team, because they're the ones responsible for supporting a young cast and helping them deliver the best performance they can.

It's surprising. Based on the synopsis, I expected a messy romance, but the colorful poster convinced me to give it a try.

It actually seems really wholesome and cute. I'll wait for the next episodes before drawing any conclusions, but I have a feeling that people expecting a typical "BL" might be disappointed. It's definitely queer, and the boy's feelings for the teacher seem like they'll be the main storyline, but I get the impression that the romance will only be one part of the overall story.

The first episode introduces way too many characters for them not to play important roles. Somehow, I feel like this is going to be more of a family and coming-of-age story than a romance, even though there will obviously be a gay romance.

Maybe I'm just biased because I love queer stories (or stories with queer main characters) that don't revolve entirely around the romance. ^^'

I also adore coming-of-age J-dramas because romantic relationships are usually just one part of the bigger picture. I'd be really happy if this drama ended up treating its queer story the same way a straight coming-of-age J-drama would.

That said, I'm probably getting way ahead of myself after just one episode and a trailer. x)

Are they straight, though?
We don't know anything about the boyfriend (hetero, bi, or deep in the closet). And the whole point of the high schooler character seems to be that he doesn't know himself at all (what he likes, who he likes, what he wants to do, etc.).

Currently on episode 4, and it's been really entertaining so far.

I like the characters, and even though the main actress is pretty stiff, she's so gorgeous that I don't really mind. It also kind of fits the character she's playing. At this point, though, she's definitely the weakest actor in the main cast.

The ML is great, especially his comedic chemistry with his aide. The two brother princes (the ones with the same mother) also have a really good, tragic dynamic.

The last two princes are pretty forgettable, but those four guys are doing most of the heavy lifting acting-wise right now.

Story-wise, it's just a lot of fun. Nothing groundbreaking, but the overpowered FL and the fun ML make it work. It's completely over the top and basically one big, satisfying slap festival. Don't go in expecting anything particularly subtle.

As pure entertainment, though, it's doing exactly what it sets out to do, so I'd say it's a success.
