On Your Summer, My Storm 1 day ago
It's surprising. Based on the synopsis, I expected a messy romance, but the colorful poster convinced me to give it a try.

It actually seems really wholesome and cute. I'll wait for the next episodes before drawing any conclusions, but I have a feeling that people expecting a typical "BL" might be disappointed. It's definitely queer, and the boy's feelings for the teacher seem like they'll be the main storyline, but I get the impression that the romance will only be one part of the overall story.

The first episode introduces way too many characters for them not to play important roles. Somehow, I feel like this is going to be more of a family and coming-of-age story than a romance, even though there will obviously be a gay romance.

Maybe I'm just biased because I love queer stories (or stories with queer main characters) that don't revolve entirely around the romance. ^^'

I also adore coming-of-age J-dramas because romantic relationships are usually just one part of the bigger picture. I'd be really happy if this drama ended up treating its queer story the same way a straight coming-of-age J-drama would.

That said, I'm probably getting way ahead of myself after just one episode and a trailer. x)

Two hetero guys fall in love? That sounds Classical BL. The Japanese are masters in that, so I am sure this will…
Are they straight, though?
We don't know anything about the boyfriend (hetero, bi, or deep in the closet). And the whole point of the high schooler character seems to be that he doesn't know himself at all (what he likes, who he likes, what he wants to do, etc.).

Currently on episode 4, and it's been really entertaining so far.

I like the characters, and even though the main actress is pretty stiff, she's so gorgeous that I don't really mind. It also kind of fits the character she's playing. At this point, though, she's definitely the weakest actor in the main cast.

The ML is great, especially his comedic chemistry with his aide. The two brother princes (the ones with the same mother) also have a really good, tragic dynamic.

The last two princes are pretty forgettable, but those four guys are doing most of the heavy lifting acting-wise right now.

Story-wise, it's just a lot of fun. Nothing groundbreaking, but the overpowered FL and the fun ML make it work. It's completely over the top and basically one big, satisfying slap festival. Don't go in expecting anything particularly subtle.

As pure entertainment, though, it's doing exactly what it sets out to do, so I'd say it's a success.

The story is so complicated, the ending totally confused me! So, all of them are dead?
Oh wow .... Did you just spoil me the entire show in two lines?

There's a magic little box with "spoiler" written next to it. When you click on it, it hide the content of your very spoiling comment. It help the people who want to go to the comment to see spoiler-free opinions before watching a new show.

Technology is amazing like that. I hope you learned something today.

Yes, I'm going full satirical. Because I'm very annoyed right now. But I'm polite and all, so please edit your comment in spoiler mode. Thank you.

(and pls no "when you go to the comment section, you need to prepare for spoilers". No I do not. Not when the site has a spoiler fonction especially for it.)

You are talking absolute rubbish out of your arse.Nothing is "romanticized" here. Both sexual interactions…
I agree that SA has been heavily romanticized in BLs, but I don't think it's the case here.

I think it served as not a step into their romance, but a step into knowing their characters. Kataoka is not a good person, who rape and murders people. Odajima is a killer who has almost no reaction to being SAed, only thinking about the fact that he needs to kill Kataoka soon.

It didn't make it romantic (Odajima didn't seem to have fun lol), only made it clear that we're in Toxicland, and not to expect more. :)

If someone actually found that very obviously NC scene "romantic"... Then it's on them, sorry. To me, it was the scene I understood that we were dealing with BAD PEOPLE, not just the usual "bad boy with a heart of gold" type.
They're real criminals who are desensitized to violence.

Anyway, I absolutely agree that SA is heavily romanticized in BLs, but I don't think it's the case here. It's very obviously a toxic relationship between two very disturbed individuals.

This drama is not an adaptation of The Grave Robbers Chronicles, but an adaptation of Wu Xie's Private Notes, "which is an extra story that describes Wu Xie's various thoughts in the early main series".

"The notes that Wu Xie have always carried with him are in this notebook. There are texts, photos, hand-drawn pictures, receipts and vouchers acquired along the way, private evaluations of teammates, and feelings about history. His various thoughts as he traveled to tombs are also recorded in this notebook." synopsis from Daomu Biji Wiki.

And I'm a little confused abt something. No Dhevi apologist here, she chose to marry a gay man, she needs to live…
OMG I'm so stupid...... How did I just forget that???? Wtf.
I think I'm mixing storylines up ^^'
Need to drink less cafeine and go to sleep before watching dramas

Love the show. Amazing from end to finish. Even with how horrible the ending was from some people; I do love how…
And I'm a little confused abt something.

No Dhevi apologist here, she chose to marry a gay man, she needs to live with it. But when did she said she asked her father (or brothers?) to kill the ex-boyfriend?
I just assumed she told her father she wanted to marry Krailert, and the man did some cleaning. And she learned that he was gay and that her father/brothers got the boyfriend killed. But still chose to continue with the wedding. Or something like that?

I mean, if she was such a murderer, why would she let her husband fuck around after that? Why wouldn't she ask for Naran to be killed when she knew abt their affair? The man was a "problematic" journalist, going around in protests, easy target for an accidental murder, lol (contrary to a famous actor in a way less dangerous position).
If she did it once, she can't do it twice?

She's no angel, not even a good person. But I'm just wondering why everybody thinks she is the ex-boyfriend's murderer when the current boyfriend is alive and well. It just doesn't make sense to me. Wouldn't she want the boyfriend to die even more than the ex-boyfriend? One is the love of her crush; one is the affair of her HUSBAND. Different level of hatred here.

Plus, at some point, she was obviously in love with Veera. If she's the type to kill people who are in the way of her love, why didn't she kill her husband to be with Veera? I'm going way too far here, of course. It just...Doesn't make sense to me for her to be a one-time psycho.

If she is, though, then I'm truly disappointed in the writing team. They created wonderfully coherent characters, male and female, for the whole drama, but just... flunked on Dhevi?

Tbh I thought Mile was much better than Apo in the last episode and it surprised me a lot.
Apo didn't have anything to show in this episode, though? His arc was done last episode; he was only finishing up things for the other characters.
It was Mile's time to show off his acting skills; Apo already had his time to shine in the previous episode :)

Kudos to the actor who plays the copycat wannabe guy with glasses. He was great and really rose to the FL’s…
Really? I love the whole cast!
I think they work well with each other, you can really feel the differences between the two "killers" and the "normal" people.

I love the dissonance in the styles where the "crazies" clash with the protagonist/others, where you can feel they eat at him, and he's losing his footing. Here, the experience in acting may be the reason, but it works really well as he is eaten alive psychologically.

The two killers we saw really feel like insects eating at him bit by bit. Love it!

And of course, Go Hyun Jun is amazing. Hope the drama is a hit so she can get that Daesang.

I love the simpler scenes with the police team, the wife, and the old guy. So, no dissatisfaction in acting for me! Though the differences in style and intensity can be jarring.

It's sus why her work's quality improved after the killing started, what could have inspired her? I definitely…
I agree that it is what the drama is hinting at, but didn't we see a scene where she is frustrated that she's not doing well at the beginning, when the killing already started? When the son came back after the cop asked for him to see his mom, two killings had already happened, and she was throwing out good ingredients, saying it was useless bc she didn't have the skills. And the son calmed her down.

Only after her discussion with her husband did she get better.

guyss!!may I know why he disliked his mother like he was an child when his mother murdered everyone?I can't understand…
Maybe because he had to live as the son of a serial killer and had all his basic emotional foundations in life destroyed?

A few reasons off the top of my head:

1. Became an orphan bc of her (mom prison, dad ran away bc of the pressure/public opinion)
2. Son of a serial killer, subject to society's judging eye forever
3. Trauma in formative years, can't recover from that
4. Never a moment of calm in his mind: If mom's a serial killer, how is his self-esteem? How can he trust himself around... anything & anybody? Will he kill people, too? Maybe it's genetic? He should never have children, right? Nobody can know, because nobody will love him for being the son of a monster. After all, they will think that maybe he knew, maybe it's genetic, maybe he will be like his mom.
5. You said it: he has almost no memory of her, so he is even more likely to hate her blindly. To him, she's just a stranger who screwed his life around big time, with no escape from it even in her death.

It is a little frustrating in terms of story, as I would love to see him more cool headed and for them to catch the killer, but well... it's impossible to ask that of the poor guy.

Don't know the original story, and only saw half of the first episode, so it's all just a guess. Would be fun if there was some hidden reason, though! :)

Compared to the first one this one fall short on mystery and supernatural, but more drama.
Really?
I feel it's less mystery because our protagonists are as lost as we are in this mindf*ck, opposite to the first season where Ajin was a big part of the mystery. Now that we know about him, it feels less classic "detective" but the mystery is here.

And the supernatural is less... "flashy"?... but it's everywhere all the time. It's just that it's not as clearly explained as in the last season because everybody knows all about it. Ajin doesn't have to put into words what is happening.

I kind of understand where you're coming from, but it feels incorrect to me? Idk how to explain ^^' (sorry, english is not my first language)
