Truly I believe this is one of the best historical dramas I have ever seen and I am a committed cdrama fan. This is the first time I have seen a cdrama take on such heavy topics and do it so well, physical and mental disability. Bai Lu is owning this character, strong, smart and cunning in the surface but fragile and broken in the inside. Chen Lei is also doing an amazing job, acting as a disable person and all the myriad of emotions he has shown is incredible.
I appreciate how they have slowly build trust and fallen for each other. This is much more realistic and mature look at how a relationship develops. For them having each others backs and being each others support is what matter, step by step, not passion and over the top emotions. Not to mention they both have more purpose than just love.
The first drama in a long time where every episode continues to surprise me and the plot just keeps giving. They have done such a good job developing these characters and slowing revealing the layers. I think we are all going to have a good cry when FL finally reveals the truth to ML. I can’t imagine the kind of suffering this person has gone through that her mind is so fragmented to protect herself.
The other aspects of this drama that I love is the realism in makeup and styling. We can actually see the pores on their faces!!!! How awesome is that??? Cdrama often whitewashes and uses so much makeup that it’s ridiculous. Seeing their faces and hair out of place is so refreshing.
Cant wait for more episodes!!! This drama has so much depth, I hope the momentum continues
Really enjoying this drama, love the two leads. Feeling badly for ML being used but I also understand FLs motivation. Aside from the drama, can I say how amazing the music is? OST is fire and conveys all the emotions perfectly

3rd rewatch and I still like it. Why is the score so low? ignore and watch it if you’re into this genre. Yes it’s a little over the top but the ML is actually perfect for this role and has great chemistry with the FL. Love his Alpha male, domineering attitude especially in the bedroom, so much intensity. Wishes it was longer!
Just finished episode 6 with good subs on Viki. I really like it, dark toxic drama. The ML is so interestin, complex and so damaged. The MDL score is way too low. This is such a fascinating drama and the actors are doing a great job
So much CRAZY!!!! I love it. Love the leads and we can feel the chemistry. ML is sexy and ruthless. The pace is fast, blink and you miss a storyline. What’s with only 24 episodes???

Just rewatched the drama for the 3rd time. Hadn’t watched in about 2 years and forgot what a masterpiece this was. I get goosebumps every time I watch, I want to be immersed in this kind of sexy, carefree, passionate love. The leads have some of the best chemistry I’ve seen on screen and even though there is approx. 20year age difference. I never really feel it because the leads are so comfortable with each other. To me it never feels creepy or wrong.
I love that she is shameless and bold. The girl has been close to death and this is her chance to fall in love and she takes it! He is more reserved but can’t resist her charm, she may have fallen first but he falls deeper. I swear Xu Ruohan can flirt with anyone and make it look natural (the Best Thing with Zhang Linghe)
I actually really like her mother’s story and dating a younger man. I appreciate the drama pushing boundaries and just focusing on what it means to meet the right person regardless of age, job, background. Let’s talk cinematography, wow, wow, I’m always blown away when I watch, so many beautiful moments, big and small. I feel like lm being wrapped in a warm hug LOL. Let’s not forgot the OST, fits so perfectly and such poignant music and lyrics.
Needless to say this one of my most memorable modern Cdramas of all time! 10/10
