RANT TIME:

Okay, we need to have a talk and by "we" I mean me and the writers of these movies and shows that use ALS but seemingly only depict people who are very young, usually under 20 years old with ALS. The average onset of ALS is between 40-70 although the mean is usually between 55-70. The chances of someone in their 20s or 30s getting diagnosed with ALS are so remarkably rare that it baffles me how they keep using this tiny subsection of people diagnosed with this illness to show on screen. About 10% of cases occur before 45 years old. That is still way older than 20 and cases in someone's 20s and 30s does happen but it's very rare. It just bugs me every time they talk about this illness but only do so to depict the short life span these teenagers or very young adults have. They seem to play mostly to that aspect, their young lives being cut short, instead of the reality of who is really getting diagnosed and what kind of stages they are in their life and what affects them.

I'm sure this show is lovely but this is an annoying trend I have seen so many times. Please don't come for me, enjoy what you want, watch what you want, I'm just ranting here.

Kim has played an engineering student in a BL twice (excluding Gen Y season 2) making this his third time as an engineer. I guess third time was NOT the charm...

Title Jazz for Two
Okay, so according to one of the articles someone posted below, there are two actors missing from this MDL page.

Ji Ho Geun is supposed to play the role of Tae-Yi and Kim Jung-Ha is supposed to play the role of Song Ju-Ha.

Neither of these actors have MDL pages.
I have only managed to find HanCinema pages for them so I'm linking them here for anyone who knows how to add them to MDL.

https://www.hancinema.net/korean_Ji_Ho-geun.php
https://www.hancinema.net/korean_Kim_Jung-ha.php

They will probably both be listed as main roles as well bringing it to a total of 4 main roles. That's probably why Do Yoon is listed as a main role.

Here is the article:

One of the writer's is a medical doctor.50 is probably the maximum amount the trauma center can handle at one…
Thank you for sharing this info. I just thought it sounded so off so I tried to do as much research as I could before writing that post but I guess it wasn't enough. I promise I did extensive research, I didn't just write it but thank you for correcting me. Now I know! Thanks for taking the time, I appreciate it!

I have felt more & more over the years that maybe anything to do with medical anything in a BL they should just…
"I got into an accident and need emergency help!"

"Um, sir, this is a Wendy's, all I've got for you is a coke and a smile."

P.S. Your comment made me howl with laughter and could not be more true lol

Anyone else notice the blue and white theme they're going for with Ji's outfits aside from some in their younger days. Ji is taking a strictly blue and white for shirts theme and Achi is going for a less strict black with accents. I don't know why they're doing this, maybe it will come up later, but it's something I noticed.

What made me laugh is the idea I came up with in my head to explain why he's wearing a button-up top on top of another button-up in the beginning of this episode. The one underneath is blue and the one on top is white. Therefore, my theory for this odd wardrobe choice of TWO collared shirts (it's weird) is that they were so adamant that they couldn't just do white or blue but that they have to stick to the blue and white theme that they said "screw it, give him two shirts."

This line in the episode had me rolling with laughter at how bad and wrong it is so I have broken it down only…
Sorry for the long comment but I had to point out the stupidity and explain it lol

This line in the episode had me rolling with laughter at how bad and wrong it is so I have broken it down only slightly.

“I called a code zero because there was a mass fire and people trampled on each other. The first 50 cases being sent to our hospital, all need an operation. Now we’re checking the operating rooms, giving patients anesthesia, calling doctors, preparing recovery rooms, and doing blood tests.”

50 cases:
Why did you choose such a high, round number? Choose something like 17 or 27, if you want to be extreme, but 50, that’s too perfect.

All need an operation:
Are you kidding me?! Every single one of the first 50 patients that have arrived at your hospital needs surgery. Also, Ji was called almost immediately and arrived 10 minutes later. There is no way that 50 patients were assessed and determined to need surgery within that time because the process is as follows. An ER doctor(s) will be on call (I assume they called all emergency staff but that is going to take a long time to assess 50 patients, way more than 15 minutes). After this happens, the doctor will call for a surgery consultation. The surgeon then needs to come and determine if surgery is necessary. Now, are you telling me that 50 patients had all of this done within 15 minutes. Also, the initial assessment can take some time and there is limited staff, never mind limited space in the ER.

Giving patients anesthesia:
Are you kidding me again?! The surgeons aren’t even there yet and the anesthesiologist has been given the go ahead to administer anesthesia without knowing anything about the nature of the surgery or how long it will take or when it will begin.

Blood tests:
Yes, blood tests are taken and they can be quick but are you telling me that 50 blood tests were done in 15 minutes. NO, screw you.

Side note:
He finishes within 12 hours I’d say and there are absolutely not enough ORs for 50 patients to have been operated on within that time. Trauma surgeries can take awhile and there can be an average of 6 or fewer ORs in a single hospital. NO.

I know this show isn’t a medical show but if you don’t know what you’re talking about, don’t talk about it. Just say that there was a massive car pile up and they need him on call to assist. Short and sweet and nothing technical because they would have gotten the technical aspects wrong.

I love the way they chose to exposition dump! I just imagine the decision making went this way:

*Somewhere in a writers' room in Thailand*

Writer One: We need to get out all of the exposition about how Ji is feeling and has felt about Achi. How do we do that?

Writer Two: Dog.

Writer One: Excuse me?

Writer Two: We get him to talk to the dog and ask the dog to keep it a secret.

Writer One: That's genius!

*The whole room erupts in chants of "Dog, dog, dog."*

That's how I think it went.

I wish they kept up with the theme of the names that Son started and the fact that being a boy is so important in this world. Why weren't the boys named something like Son, Man, Guy, Male, and Boy.
I think that would have been great!

After complaining about the title and it's bad use of English, I have now watched episode 1. Oh boy.
I should have seen this coming, they foreshadowed it in the name but DAMN, those subtitles are bad!

I am reminded of a subtitle in another BL which I can't remember the name of but I haven't forgotten this subtitle: "That you were not strangled by strangulation." I'm getting a similar sense from these subtitles.

I went through phases while watching this, pondering how these subtitles came to be. I blamed Google for a bit, I blamed a person who was lacking in the necessary knowledge, I even blamed the universe for a second there.

Needless to say, I spent most of the time in complete confusion as to what the hell was going on and allowing my brain to drift to wild theories as to how these subtitles got the green light.

Isnt this kinda like judging a book by the cover? And remember these are translated titles. Most often than not…
If you're gonna have an English title for your show, then consult someone who speaks English. Otherwise, just have your show have a Thai name. Also, the direct translation for this show is nothing close to "a secretly love," it is along the lines of "Pleum, my favorite." Also, the thing about not watching the show due to the name was a joke, I was exaggerating, of course I wouldn't base my decision on whether or not to watch a show based on the accuracy of its title in terms of English language. I can still talk about the inaccuracy though.

I haven't watched this but what the hell is this title?! "A secretly love." That doesn't make any sense so why should I trust the show to make any sense. If it was "a secret love," okay, that makes sense grammatically but not "a secretly love."

This just reminds me of "Be mine superstar" which makes no sense because it's lacking a comma after 'mine.' I cannot tell you how long I pondered over what the hell that title meant before I realized that whoever they consulted for the English name, doesn't know basic grammar.

These shows should just consult me so that this doesn't happen again.

Okay, I'm obsessed with the song "love and shine" which I had to track down in the end credits to see who it was by and what it was called. It's by Zhou Keyu but for some reason, it doesn't exist on youtube or anywhere. It's the interlude song and it isn't out there. Does anyone know when they will release the full OST because I really want to listen to the full song.
