as a Male, i am so much agree with you!and that's why whenever there's a story with 1 Male as the Lead and 2 or…
I don't want to find harem or Kdramas that target men. I don't mind them, but i prefer the normal standard Kdramas. I'm just pointing out the double standards regardless of the demographics. The fact is ML's are considered toxic or red flags just for talking to a SFL. I'll give you a perfect example. A FL will often spend time with the SML going out for dinner, drinks, to the park, and even theme parks, and that's considered ok and normal. Can you imagine a ML doing that with a SFL😱 "toxic." And don't mention ML's from Thai dramas and Japanese dramas, because they're different. By the way, Japanese dramas are dominated by female viewers, they're made for females, because you'll see the majority have the love triangle with the two male characters. Not two female characters. It's just that the men force themselves on the FL, but the women still watch it and enjoy it.

I understand all that about the viewers and demographics, and how this is mainly made for female audiences, and that's fine. My original comment is for the unnecessary complainants about a love line just because of a SFL. I mean SML's always disrupt love lines between the leads, it's nothing new.

I can't comment on anime because i don't watch it. So i don't know why you're bringing that up, just like you mentioned Thai dramas, but we're talking about different things. You can't compare those things to kdrama and Cdrama romcoms, because my original comment is about kdrama and Cdrama romcoms. And anime is a completely different story, you can't base your argument on anime, Japanese dramas and Thai dramas. Many men watch Kdramas, and we're perfectly fine with it. Even with this drama My Dearest is absolutely fine, there is no reason to be triggered by a SFL, because I'm certainly not concerned about the SML. "if this show targeted men, there would have been rage from men if the female had SML." If that were true, then why don't you see the men watching Kdramas complain about the SML? There are men watching Kdramas, it's not just women.

The difference is men don't complain when male characters are shown. We like both male and female characters. While women will chuck a fit when a SFL is involved. Ok, so the ML is toxic, I'm not saying it doesn't exist, I'm saying it's a minority. Because women love the ML's to have all those traits i mentioned earlier, and that's fine, as a male I also prefer these type of ML's, because it's not just women that put themselves in the shoes of the FL, but men do the same with the ML's. I'm also fine with the women having multiple male characters surrounding her while the ML doesn't, because at least it shows the ML to be loyal to the FL. I have no issues with Kdramas or Cdramas, infact i love them. But it's the double standards that don't make sense, just like this drama and the negative response it received from the female audience. Because i guarantee it wouldn't have happened if it was the SML instead of the SFL.

Title Love You Seven Times Spoiler
I'm on episode 26, the empress and the prince life. Now I'm beginning to understand what happened in the past. But i already had an idea that the leads were somehow involved in the past. They had made out that the SML was together with the empress, but he wasn't, it was unrequited, the empress never liked him. They always do that, they make the SML believe he owns her, that she only can be with him. Sorry buddy, she's not yours.

Title Bad Boy
I still believe his romance with Moon Jae In was completely unnecessary, she was better off with Hong Tae Sung,…
Of course it's necessary, it's a love triangle, that's what's meant to happen. Just like a FL with a SML, it's part of the character and relationship development. By the way I'm curious, would you still have the same opinion if it was a FL with multiple male characters?🤔

Title Bad Boy
Not sure if this is a revenge drama or a harem one. There are like 5 women lusting over the main guy. Fitting…
What's wrong with harem? The majority of dramas are usually reverse harem or have a love triangle with the SML. It's refreshing to watch a harem for once, especially a revenge one.

You are literally running a false narrative. People just wanted those two together since they spend 9 eps cheering…
😂 Just look at this drama for example. We get one scene with a SFL with the ML and all hell breaks loose. Just read the quote, "Immediately after the broadcast, viewers expressed dissatisfaction and concern about the excessive collapse of the anticipated love line, with comments such as "Is the female lead changing?" "The direction with Lee Chung Ah has more impact than the previous Gil Chae storyline," "If it ends like this, doesn't it mean the story is going downhill?" Do you think we would've got the same reaction if it was a SML? No. Anyway I'm not referring to Japanese dramas or Thai dramas, obviously they're different with a different culture. I mainly watch Kdramas and Cdramas, so i can only refer to them, and we are watching a Kdrama after all, so don't bring different cultures in to it.

Yes, we all want these two together, but no one ever mentions the romance, chemistry, and flirting between the FL and SML as a negative. Have you ever heard of second lead syndrome? Yep, i bet you hear it all the time. Let me tell you, that phrase doesn't apply to the SFL, regardless of that SFL is toxic or not, and the SML can be toxic and still be called a second lead syndrome. And the ML's you mention that are playboys or toxic, are only given those names for merely rejecting a FL, or even giving some attention to a female character other than the FL. While the FL can flirt with any male character she desires, especially the SML, without any insults towards her. I'm not saying all ML's and FL's are like that, but the majority are. Most ML's need to have certain traits, they need to be the prince charming that saves the damsel in distress, they need to be completely devoted to the FL, if they're not, they're labelled as toxic, or red flags. While FL's, they can be kind, caring, arrogant, or selfish, it doesn't matter, she can be with the ML or SML without any hate. There is no false narrative, just facts.
