To offer up some trivia, in the book the infatuation that Fah feels for Rak starts even earlier than Rak's Freshman Welcome ceremony, in fact in the book Fah goes to the Welcome ceremony specifically because he knows that Rak is his brother's classmate and will be participating. When there he watches Rak longingly from afar, standing under a tree some distance away. (During the series trailer there's a shot of Fah smiling as he holds a photo of Rak at the Welcome ceremony, which made me think they might include a more extensive flashback, but seeing how things went in today's episode I guess they won't.)
In the book, however, you might say that Fah exhibits some stalker behavior long before the Welcome ceremony. There is a whole chapter that covers this period in Fah's life. Fah tries to learn as much as he can about Rak, which includes following his Facebook account. Rak's ill-fated relationship with Mew takes place during this time, and Fah learns they're together when Rak changes his Facebook status to "Dating Mew". Seeing this, Fah is devastated -- it's like all his dreams are crushed in an instant. I found this chapter to be quite moving. Fah is lonely despite his wealth and gorgeous good looks.
There is no fake relationship in the book, although Fah and Rak do meet in person for the first time after Fah rescues Rak from Oh at the night club and drives him home. (The incident with Oh merely serves to get the story going.) Babe is mortified that Fah had to take responsibility for her drunken brother like that, so she tells Rak that he must apologize to Fah in person. The next morning she and Dom set out to drive Rak to Fah's business, but on the way something comes up so they end up dropping Rak off there with a promise to pick him up later. A sobered-up Rak finally meets Fah in person and is deathly intimidated, but in a short time Fah starts fawning over Rak and asking him to stay as long as he can.
This scene happens before the book reveals that Fah has been crushing on Rak for a long time, so all this fawning strikes both Rak and the reader as puzzling.
From there, Fah becomes a constant presence in Rak's life.
Other trivia: Fah's name refers to the sky and Rak's refers to the sea, so in the series pilot when Fah says he wishes that the sea and sky could meet and make the horizon disappear, he's hinting at his wish to be with Rak for real.

One thing I caught was that Rak’s father said to Fah, “Long time no see”. Rak’s mom also recognized him.

I was expecting it to be good, but this blew away those expectations. What a fantastic start to the Yotha-Gun story. Almost completely different cast, too. It's like a different series.
I guess the little encounter between Faifa and Wine is a sneak preview of their story coming up later?
Such lazy writing to manufacture a crisis for Ter by having Hill go incommunicado for several days, not even responding to texts. The lamest trope in all of BL because REAL PEOPLE DON'T ACT THAT WAY.
It's fake as hell -- completely counter to Hill's personality -- and with everyone so tired of Easter's constant fretting, why did they think we'd be riveted by more?

I think you're onto something! Maybe Rak will reluctantly agree to separate from Fah in order to spare Fah further trouble. From there it would be nice to have Fah be the one who is tortured the most over their separation while Rak tries his best to hold back.

This is already different from the novel. There, Oh's father is a high ranking policeman. After Fah slugs Oh at the night club everyone has to go to the police station to sort things out.

The only good thing about it was it helped to hurry the "P'Oh" arc to its much desired conclusion.

What I like about Teerak's characterization is that there are plenty of scenes where he acts like an ordinary kid.
