This is going to sound weird, but one thing I always watch for when two boys hug each other in a BL series, is whether they press their whole bodies together or they put just a bit of distance between them from the waist down, as though subconsciously not wanting their crotches to come in contact. Sometimes they compensate so much that they "lean into" the hug and it looks awkward.

Santa and Earth's hugs are full-press, "let me engulf you" hugs ... which is what it should be when two people are in love.

I like that Danny was really singing that karaoke song on-set in Episode 4. His voice wasn't drowned out by the music accompaniment and it wasn't done for laughs like such a scene often is, and it made for a sweet moment.

There's been a LOT that's worse. I'm enjoying it, but then again I'm not someone who thinks it was sacrilege to recast the roles.

And it's almost an entirely independent story, which also doesn't bother me.

Where are MDL's Consent Police when you need them? Like you said, if the actors took the role then they knew what was required. They weren't handcuffed on set.

Since it seems likely that Santa and Earth are a couple in real life, their kiss in "7 Project" might have been no big deal for that reason. (And what a kiss it was.)

Amen to that. The first episode was a little rough but since then it has steadily improved.

I really like the actor playing Tang, and as a character Tang is so interesting. I'm looking forward to the upcoming episodes where the boys fall in love. It will be a great example of two people with needs that the other is perfectly suited to fill.

I'm grateful they haven't tried to work a spa visit into the plotline since Episode 1. That was so awkward! The brief "sponsored by" mentions at the beginning and end of an episode seem reasonable to me.

Foei is played by the actor who plays Shun in "Oh My Sunshine Night", and the characters are similar ... stalkerish and unable to take a hint lol. Unfortunately, Foei isn't as resilient as Shun.

You make some great points as usual, and I agree with your last statement here. Somehow this series stumbled into interesting territory for me. Too bad Fah and Sher aren't the reason but I'll take what I can get.

For me Prince lost a lot of points in this episode. Gear is emerging as the nicest, most dateable character in the whole series. Prince is just showing what happens when you fall in love with your best friend but won't face up to it. Gear should run in the other direction, fast.

The introduction of the new character Charles has me curious if he'll be serving a purpose in getting any of these couples to finally face their feelings for one another.

I thought Prince was unnecessarily harsh. What else should Miss Thing expect if he's going to be all over Sher because of a twisted ankle, when the guy who's obviously courting him is standing right there -- a guy who has been 100% decent and respectful. Gear tried to talk to him about it and Prince went nuclear. From the way the whole topic set him off, maybe Prince's feelings for Sher aren't so platonic after all.

What I was most disappointed in was that after Gear realized that Prince has no feelings for him (Gear), he still went chasing after him! It's not worth it, bro! At this point if you date Prince you'll end up with Sher as the shadow boyfriend who it will be impossible to replace.

It's messy. And Mean ... lord oh lord. I have no words except I'm embarrassed for him. His character is the least realized, which I guess can happen if you're directing and you're not able to stand outside of your character and be disciplined about it. I don't give two figs about his budding romance. And it's not because it's not BL (I watch tons of m/f series) but because when he's on screen I don't believe a single second of it. His character is as unnecessary and artificial as the wig on his misguided head.

Champs grandfather ... I can sense it already ... it's not a question of "if" he will die in a future episode, it's just which one. When a character radiates that much aw-shucks benevolence in scene after scene, stick a fork in him ... he's done.
