And was anyone else confused by the kiss scene in the last ep? Baram was performing on stage in front of an audience and Hantae was staring at him, and then suddenly they were both alone on the stage making out? What happened? Did they wait for everyone to leave, or did they have some sort of telepathic phantom kissing session?? I was so confused that it was hard for me to even rate the kiss fairly, lol.
Not too bad, but not too great either. The actors were handsome and had some cute chemistry and scenes, and it's nice to see Doyoon (Baram) again after all these years. He was a predebut member of the popular idol group Seventeen, and I used to follow their predebut livestreams back in like 2014. Even he couldn't save the awful pacing in this show, though.
The main conflict in the plot was resolved before the end of episode 6 (of 8), and then a bunch of character development was crammed in after it up until the ending. The mutual attraction between the leads seemed obvious from the very first episodes, but somehow it stretched out their uncertainty about each other's feelings about 3 times as long as it needed to, even though they lived together. The character development should have been woven into the main conflict, not dawdled until the end.
They should have played that last song earlier on too instead of using the Apology song so much. It's not a bad song, but it was played too many times in just a few episodes, and oddly seemed to try to have it handwaved off by having Baram never finish the song until the last time it's played. 🤷♂️ Overall, I want to see more of the leads in newer works, but this show could have been 2-3 whole episodes shorter than it was.
The actors are likeable and the chemistry can be good, but so far all this season really seems to be doing is dragging out the first season's intimacy and communication issues between the couples, which were already dragging on too much then too, in my opinion. It's like for every step forward they take 2 steps backward, and it's getting old. If you didn't mind it in season 1, you might like this season too, but I've been struggling to pay attention.
I'm still not over Jeongwook feeling unloved and finally breaking down and letting his tears flow after 8 years. I just wanted to give him the biggest hug. He seems like a sweetheart, and it can't have been easy putting himself back on the market after such a long and serious relationship, especially given how harsh the gay dating scene can be to inexperienced men in his age group. I'm not saying I think anyone should have forced themselves to like him, it just sucks seeing him like that. 😔
Casual reminder that Sungho is under no obligation whatsoever to date Junsung if he doesn't want to. I know most people aren't pushing that, but it's still bothersome to see real gay men who've known each other for mere days being treated like BL ships.
I went from not being very interested after eps 1 and 2 to being more invested than I ever was in season 1 after 3-5, lol. Everyone has their charms and it seems like there's better communication overall between everyone than season 1. Except Seonwoo. I like him but I don't understand why he seems to be all over the place. Jeongwook really grew on me too. I want to know more about his past, and career.
I knew Yunhee (TKboy from Youngjay's youtube channel) wasn't straight, lol. I guess he only said he was back then because he was about to enlist. I'm glad he can be more open about himself now.
And apparently he may have been born in 1996 according to school records? That would mean he's lied about his age 3-4 times. If true, he'll be like 34 years old when the contract ends, whereas Gyurae will barely be old enough to drink in the USA. Lol...
Everything about this show screams mediocre. Seems like even the judges know by this point. Contestants that can't perform, contestants that can't even speak basic Korean, kids everywhere, and overlap of all 3. The noonas in the ridiculous live audience votes always pick the same contestants regardless of how well they did, and some of the few actually talented contestants have bad attitudes that make them hard to stan. I do genuinely like a few of them, but I don't want them to debut with the rude contestants either. A mess.

There was a controversy years ago between him and fellow actor Art Pakpoom where Art insinuated during an Instagram live that Mew was using their #MewArt BL ship to control him psychologically, isolate him from his friends, and kiss him against his will. Mew's fans countered that Art had basically outed Mew, and had done so to get back at him for pointing out that Art was skipping meetings and shootings, etc. It got pretty ugly and was never really resolved in anyone's favor.
I hope Seunghwan knows how much support he has. I heard he's saying he might reconsider enlisting right away after being eliminated, hopefully based on feedback he's getting. I hope he got some good offers from companies. His elimination hurt a lot more than I was expecting, even though he was in my fixed 3.
