Yup I agree. I think with Ye Xian, the relationship would be like fireworks; lots of angst and drama, lots of huge emotions flying everywhere(this is IF they’re both in love with each other) but when the emotional outbursts have drained dry, what’s left would be exhaustion. Someone like Ye Xian would be the best to have as a bestie. I actually feel sympathy for him, he’s indeed a man in despair. What he needs is not a relationship but a greater purpose in life. I think irl, many girls would choose men like Ye Xian when it’s the Chen Yanyuns who would give them the happiest marriage.

hehe I was Team Jacob but Ye Xian isn’t like Jacob. There is chemistry between both of them & I believe Ye Xian has true feelings for her but Ye Xian’s temper along with Jinzhao’s temper will not be good for a long-lasting happy union. It might even end up growing toxic when resentments grow. Chen Xuanqing is a total green flag but he’s too passive & reserved, if they had been together, I think in the long run Jinzhao will grow frustrated 🤣 Jinzhao’s already highly intelligent, a risk-taker with a sharp mind. She would need someone on par with her or wiser, more experienced for her to have that extra spark in a relationship. Some ppl may think that Chen Yanyun doesn’t seem to be romantic & is too calm but I think he’s just good at hiding his emotions due to his dangerous political career. I guess for a lasting marriage without energy-sucking dramas, JinZhao choosing CYY would be the best choice. Having said that, I do enjoy her interactions with Ye Xian 😬

I’m on Ep 7 and I can feel the different chemistry between Gu Jinzhao with Chen Yanyun, Chen Xuanqing and Ye Xian. I do wonder if it were me, who would I pick 🤣 Also who has the quality to be a husband most suitable to Jinzhao’s personality(yes I know who she ends up with).

I agree with you. A normal procedure would be to check the safe himself up close and at least feel it with his hand. But no he just stood and looked on from a distance. I blame this on the scriptwriting coz someone as meticulous and intuitive as Xiao Ran would never do that.

Interesting observation. I also feel that she’s not in this drama just as a love interest of Xiao Ran but I don’t have any hard evidence to pinpoint that it’s her yet.

Wait what? Xiao Qiao has a problem too? I’m caught up to the latest ep, haven’t seen anything abt her that indicates otherwise.

Abt Xiao Ran being kind, I think as a policeman you can’t let your feelings cloud your mind when investigating a case. It’s also not just Xiao Ran but Lao He as well after watching today’s ep.

Gosh, all those ppl they questioned in the 1st timeline started giving out more details in the 2nd timeline. Wtf these ppl! So many missed opportunities. Xiao Ran was too trusting and nice to the building manager of Yuanlongli. Again and again his intuition told him there’s a problem there with Qian Dajun but he just ignored his intuitions.

Also I kinda wanna blame Xiaohe for Lao He’s memory loss.

Yup like now I’m watching Ep 10, Xiao Ran is dead but is shown as Lao He’s delusion. There’s that scientific explanation.

After watching Ep 8, I’m quite sure the theory that Xiao Ran is no longer here in 2015 is true.

I don’t remember which episode but very early on they got married and then their relationship, love and trust just grew slowly from there.

Something about the govt not encouraging or allowing the promotion of superstitious beliefs. That’s why whenever a character in any drama mentions ghosts for eg, someone else will counter them by asking them to believe in science. They’re that sensitive about it. Such a shame though, imagine how creative plots can be if there’s no such restrictions.

That would be very interesting if so, but I doubt coz it’s a Chinese production and they’re not allowed to make dramas with ghosts. Even if it seems as such, they will have a scientific explanation later.

Middle age Ran? Wang Hedi’s character? He doesn’t look middle age. At most he’d be in his 30s.
