I personally don’t know how significant mythological/wild beasts are in Chinese history but I heard that the production takes feedbacks and suggestions from Chinese viewers of S1. Maybe it’s an element that Cnetz really like. If so, we might see them again in S3 🤷♀️ (I hope not though. After the tiger, it seems too repetitive).

I'm not a big fan of beasts either. I think they're trying to add in Chinese mythical beasts as an addition to the 'strange' theme of the drama.
