I was disappointed at first but gave some thought abt why they do that. I think it’s very compassionate of the production to make the ending like that, in consideration of the thousands & thousands of Wang Shitus and Doudous. I feel that it’s the production’s way of telling them that “We understand how hopeless and difficult it is. What you’re going through is all valid but you’re not alone. You’re already doing your best! Never give up!”

Don’t forget to rate this drama guys. I really think it should be higher than 8.3

Just like how they wrote over 11xxx children were found & reunited but then I remember the pics of kids they showed at the end of every episode, it means those kids are still missing. Just like Doudou ☹️

I think it’s also the production’s way of being respectful to the families of missing children who have not yet been found. If they gave it a fairytale-like ending, I would find it quite insulting of all my efforts and sufferings if I were a parent who never stopped searching for his child for decades.

She did have a very important part in the story though.

Yeah I agree, although I wished Xiao Qi is Doudou, I think what they did is ultimately a better ending. Also did you notice that JMF had super strength? He could dig and pull out the whole coffin by himself 🤣 The same coffin that needed a group of people to carry.

Actually I just wanna say that Guo Ke Yu the actress who played Bian Jie’s mom was brilliant. I’m sad that Xiao Qi is never shown to be Doudou or not. Why didn’t they just do a DNA test? I wish he is Doudou but I can understand that this ending is more realistic. What a fun ride with everyone here! We managed to guess some theories correctly. Good drama all in all, I cried a bit in the end and felt sad for Wang Shitu and all the real missing kids and their parents.

I finished the last 2 eps coz I couldn’t wait. Some thoughts below:

Yeah other kids aside, with Xiao Qi having so many similarities with Doudou I also wondered why WST didn’t think to do a test. The only reason I can think of is because WST is super confident that he could recognize his son at a glance so he thinks Xiao Qi is not. I have a feeling now that maybe Xiao Qi really is not Doudou coz when he goes to WST’s house the 1st time, he was asked to choose a room and if he’s Doudou, the script will have him pick Doudou’s room to show us more clues that he is the lost son.
