Ah finally finished. It’s good enough for me to wanna watch S2 but the Ning tantrums + romance got me really bored. Luckily she toned it down in the last few eps. Erm…I also think that Si Yilin/Kadan ahem scene was unnecessary 🤣. I wish they would explain more on the bg of this ‘world’ instead. Give us context abt the countries & clans. I’m sure that would make viewers more invested in the characters & understand why they do what they do.
It took me so long to watch this drama. I’ve heard of it for years but got put off by the no. of episodes. But now while watching a few new dramas at the same time, I find myself bingeing this drama more & putting others on hold. It’s SO good. Anyway…I hate the emperor blek! 😤

Oh they have illustrations! Cool, I'll try to get my hands on them. I read all the Sherlock Holmes stories in my teens so perhaps I can read this too. I still think part of what made this drama a snoozefest(latter part of the drama is better) for me was how they all spoke with a lower voice at 0.75x speed except Marong. If I read the books, I'll read it with my own voice lol

🤣 don’t blame me if you get traumatized by her crying in the last episode! A funny thing about this drama is that I find Huang Zongwei and A Dong have more chemistry than with his wife and A Mei 🤣 Also if you like Huang Zongwei, you should watch The Knockout. His role as the criminal there spanned 3 timelines & he became super popular throughout the whole of China last year.
