Ha! I knew it! That scene wasn't scripted. Ja was improvising because he didn't know what to do with that smile. I mean, have you seen Tae smile? It just ambushes you.
The drawing of Jira's angel feels like an image of protection projected outward: Jira, unconsciously positioning himself as something Koh deserves. I say deserves because later on there's a scene in which Jira is the angel sitting on Koh "kissing him to bless him to sleep". I believe that it's a dream scene from Koh's POV (unless Koh is into some freaky role play! 🤣). I figure that when Koh gets the painting, he'll envision Jira as his own personal angel. Just like when he was trying to replicate the first painting!
Despite calling Koh evil, Jira is starting to care for him. The more he's around Koh, the more he's understanding that Koh is not the baddie that he imagined him to be.
Jira's angel is like devotion wrapped in wings.
The angel later migrates off the page and Jira becomes it in Koh's imagination. For Koh, that angel probably represents protection from the consequences of his isolated life.
And in a kind of way, Koh is Jira's angel as well. He accidentally rescued Jira from the creative slum he was in, giving Jira a blooming chance.
Jira doesn't know it yet, but he's making a confession through his art.
One of the scenes that stood out for me this week is Jira talking about his blooming dying orchid while it's on the verge of death. I see Jira in that analogy.
Jira is a starving artist in every sense where finance and creativity dwells. Then Koh appears - money, attention - and Jira suddenly blooms. 🌼
The orchid doesn't bloom because it's healthy; it blooms because it’s close to collapse.
Jira's creative resurgence is born from crisis and dependency. Whether he knows it or not, Koh is providing the condition that's triggering that bloom within Jira. I'm certain that by the end of the series, Jira is going to have an entire gallery to showcase all because of Koh. 😄
As a writer, I think work born from desperation is often the most luminous and I guess I can say the same for art.

It felt like a Ja and Tae moment. Yes, Ja and Tae because for a little moment it felt as if Saint and Ice left the room. Especially the part where Saint nuzzled Ice. That small moment felt improvised. Like, Tae's smile ambushed Ja and he didn't know what to do with it, so he nuzzled Tae. It was like ... Instinct. It just feel like Ja in real time and not Saint executing scripted romance.
Currently rewatching the 4th episode and I'm wondering why Pheem needs to take photos of Koh's place when Koh said he would've sent them. I know Koh trusts him, but there is something slimy about Pheem, and I still think that he's harboring some kind of resentment against Koh.

Exactly! And Ing knows his heart; she keeps reminding him where his heart belongs. If Jira were honest, he'd stop lying to himself about Pheem. That's just a proxy and he knows it.
