Eh, based on a true story, it promises to be a tearjerker, and who better than the original ‘Queen Of Tears’ to lead the cast? I’m delighted to see Choi Ji Woo again, an actress I truly admire... 2026 looks promising with several of my favourite actresses - including Ha Ji Won - on screen... Let's hope for good distribution for this ‘Sugar’.
Personally, I can only refer to ‘Descendants of the Sun’, which I absolutely love; it's one of the dramas I recommend most when I talk to people who are curious about Asian TV series... I believe that much of its success stems precisely from this balance of characterisation, which avoids what could be called the ‘filler effect’ (i don't know how to express it well in English.), where a redundant or marginal second story is tacked onto the plot: There is growth, a narrative progression that fits in very well with the main plot, and I remember well, even though I haven't rewatched the drama in recent years, how well defined Kim Ji Won's role was, also in terms of determination, certainly not a passive character! There is perfect chemistry between her and Jin Goo (who is certainly not inferior in terms of determination), which I find difficult to encounter often in recent series, where most of the time there is a certain mechanical randomness that I am not really passionate about... But I'm old school, as I've written in other threads, I'm a fan of “Secret Garden” also because of Yoon Sang-hyun and the beautiful Kim Sa-rang, who give so much to that immortal gem.
Then there's also ‘Goblin’ and, in some ways, ‘Crash Landing On You’ would also deserve a good analysis... When you get the right cast in its entirety, most of the time the story works beautifully, even in its ramifications. I join in the satisfaction at the return of the editorials, which are always a source not only of discussion, but also of discovery of new series, even if time, as usual, is tight...
While firmly condemning Jo Jin Wong's past criminal activities, one thing comes to mind: Did we really have to wait for a press agency report to open Pandora's box? The actor is certainly no rookie and had agencies and television networks at his disposal, with the relevant contracts. We see clearly in TV series and films how actors' lives are organised in an almost military form, as well as being “scrutinised” in their personal relationships... And no one knew anything? Or did someone (the networks, agencies, etc. mentioned above) turn a blind eye, pretending nothing was happening - for years-, out of pure personal (and financial) interest? I don't think it ends here... Any decision on the second season of “Signal” that would change the already defined structure would, in my personal opinion, be absurd...
I really enjoyed him in the excellent ‘Aema’ recently, and then I see that Kim Hyun Joo is here, so it automatically catches my attention and I add it to my list of future must-sees dramas...
A truly sad loss, and what a career (and life, I suppose) he had; It reminds me a little of the fairly recent passing of Byun Hee Bong, another much-loved actor: More than performers, they are institutions, for many of us they are a bit like the classic “harabeoji” of dramas, but Lee Soon Jae, with his 60-plus-year career, is truly a totem. RIP💔

It's a perfectly adequate response to my approach to dramas; lately, I've managed to follow three in real time, during their broadcast, but that was by pure chance, as I always tend to focus on one drama at a time, without needing to binge watching or anything like that. I completely agree with the response!
Eh, with this couple of stars, there's really something to get excited about! Basically, for Jun Ji Hyun, it's a combination of ‘My Love From The Star’ and ‘Legend Of The Blue Sea’! If they work well on the supporting cast (and I really think they will), there's a lot to enjoy here!
The plot is quite intriguing, even if with time travel there is a slight risk of déjà vu – in every sense! – however, I tend to trust the truly fantastic cast... Park Hee Soon has been everywhere lately, always with remarkable results (he's truly versatile), and I'm happy for him, but every time i come across news about him, I feel nostalgic for Park Ye Jin; I wonder if his wife will ever return to acting... Won Jin A is getting prettier and prettier! Definitely among the titles to put on the list...
It's a really interesting quest. The presence of my favourite actresses influences my choice, but in some cases I've also been disappointed (despite the cast). Conversely, I've found some real gems of dramas based solely on the plot, and I've discovered actresses and actors I didn't know (or knew little about) and who have led me to follow their other projects... ...In short, it's a vicious circle!
