CH3 I haven't forgiven you for what happened last week and for the sake of my sanity and LenaMiu I simply have to pretend that scene doesn't exist, but this ep was sooooo beautiful omg 😭😭😭

That is probably the thing I love most about Us. Every character has some kind of trauma or tragic backstory and in that regard it's a very heavy series but it's all wrapped up in so much love, friendship & care, that it doesn't feel suffocating. Paired with the humour, the banter and Dokrak's cheekiness it was incredibly well-banced between heavier and lighter parts.
Here, we still haven't even gotten to an attempt at healing bc of the lack of character development and the 'love' between ChanKey feels disingenuous so for me there's nothing that counterbalances all the depressing stuff.

I agree that Jay had the 'best' development but at the same time the bar is at at the floor atp and who she ends up with is the least interesting question for me.
ChanKey's relationship hasn't progressed at all and I'm soooo tired of the "mom is the final boss" storyline.

That makes it even worse for me bc imagine your gf tells you you've met 10 years ago and then you just say sorry for not remembering instead of asking what exactly happened?? Lol

Yeah lack of communication or miscommunication is one of my least fav tropes and lots of gls suffer from it but here it's extreme extreme

Totally agree, it feels like lazy fanservice to me bc they know lots of viewers will enjoy it (I saw so many comments celebrating) and it'll create buzz online. Film is an amazing actress and is doing a wonderful job here and I think this would have been a great chance for her to do sth independent of the CP.
Plus imo Jay doesn't need another love story. Not every character desperately needs to be paired up at the end.

This is going from meh to bad for me. wdym we're in ep 7 and they still don't communicate? first Key telling Chan about their backstory was off screen and now Chan hears about Key from her family? talking about marriage after 2 weeks of dating when she still doesn't know the first thing about Key lol. this must be one of the most underdeveloped ships i've ever come across in a gl

Well, yes and no. I'm not against showing such scenes per se, the problem is that we are supposed to ship those characters bc they always end up together. After countless gay characters ending up dead in western media, that is sth I enjoy about (thai)gl but it makes it difficult to do some topics justice, especially with such a limited number of episodes.
Regarding some comments, if someone doesn't care much about the scene bc it's fiction or whatever, okay, each person has their own taste; what I find quite disturbing are the excuses some ppl make just to pretend that this isn't SA. Stuff like 'why did she kiss back', 'why didn't she fight more', 'she secretly wanted it' etc. are all things that are said to dismiss real life victims of SA/rape . In the same ep we had a man assaulting a woman and I highly doubt anyone would call that scene "hot" or that it would have been okay if that man had been the boyfriend of the assaulted woman.
We can enjoy the show, the characters etc. while acknowledging its flaws, there is no need to bend over backwards and deny reality.

I feel the same about them. I've never really cared much about any fixed CP, I watch almost everything, but their friendship and interactions seem so genuine, they've kinda become one of my few favs. And I'm annoyed that CH3 can't even get the technical things like editing right, how do they care so little about their shows??
I feel especially sad for Lena, when you listen to her in interviews, she poured her heart and soul into this role and is portraying Peem to perfection, all while going through sth so difficult in real life, and now it all gets mixed up.
Regarding the plot, I think there are lots of ppl on both extreme ends; on the one hand you have people who outright deny that this is assault and on the other hand you have the ultra morality police who was already talking badly about the show after Ep1, claiming such toxic shows shouldn't even exist, or that you are some kind of deranged person if you enjoy these possessive characters, which is also annoying.

Idk what the producer's/writer's intention was but what was shown was clearly SA. The fact that Pan gives up fighting at some point doesn't make it consensual suddenly. And I agree with you, they could have depicted that scene in many other (better) ways. Imagine Peem throwing a fit of jealousy, telling her again how only she's allowed to f*** her and Pan replying what she's waiting for. Or Pan kissing her first, showing that she wants Peem despite her being so toxic. Or as you said, focussing on Pan's pleasure more. Toxicity and consent aren't mutually exclusive and then it can be hot too. I'm just very disappointed in how it turned out.
Also agree about the limited number of episodes, it feels very rushed overall. LenaMiu really deserved better, they are amazing and I can't praise the acting enough, it's outstanding.

yes there is. it's the last scene, so if you want to skip it, I'd suggest you just stop the ep as soon as Peem pushes Pan into her apartment

Personally I don't mind the possessiveness and controlling, that was the whole point of her character and I don't think she particularly enjoys seeing Pan miserable (I like the longer comment someone left below analysing her), but I draw the line at the ending scene.

I think everyone here knew what they were getting into, me included, and I didn't mind the toxicity and Peem being verbally abusive (and maybe a little rough sometimes), as you said, that was the point. But there was no need at all to turn Peem (who never laid a hand on Parn in the novel) into a rapist. There is no coming back from that.

And besides the plot, the editing/the transitions are beyond horrible and how do you include scenes in the "previous" flashback that weren't even shown in the first ep??

Exactly. We're at ep 6 and Key had more meaningful conversations with Jay than with Chan lol.

I thinks it's bc the sugar baby arrangement, as flawed as it was, created at least some believable chemistry due to Key basically pining after Chan right from the start and her constant teasing. Whereas them suddenly loving each other this much is not believable at all, which imo killed the whole vibe, made the grand declarations sound hollow and even the kissing/love scene look bland.
Very bad script writing, JayKey's "relationship" is better established and has more depth than ChanKey.

All the big love declarations are still kinda weird to me, both are still putting up a facade or sometimes even straight up lying (like Chan about her family being ok with her getting a tattoo). I wish we would have seen some deep conversations about their past & both showing their real me by now bc as it is I'm just not feeling what is supposed to be some great love story.
