I think a lot of people don't know much about trauma/mental health and are stuck on a very superficial "analysis" unfortunately, in the sense they can only see the "what" but not the "why" in Wine's behaviour

Completely agree. Wine isnāt selfish at all imo, on the contrary, sheās willing to sacrifice her own happiness (that she canāt live without in her own words) because she doesnāt want Lal to suffer, especially knowing how many other people depend on her. If anything, she feels unworthy of all the love sheās been given.
It seems like lots of people only see the āmeanā things she says and conclude that sheās a bad person/doesnāt care enough etc. when in reality thatās her fear and trauma speaking. In the moments sheās able to overcome those, sheās shown that sheās actually great at taking care of and supporting Lal.
As for the show, I think I belong to the minority that likes angst even in otherwise light-hearted series so Iām not disappointed at all so far but I do hope they wrap up the Korn storyline by the end of next week so we get one ep of happy, dating LalWine to say goodbye (I am soooo not ready).

Exactly! She's become so much more courageous, I could name so many things she's done now that episode 1 Wine would have never dared that it always makes me sad when ppl say that Lal is doing all the work in their relationship and don't recognise how much harder everything is for Wine due to her trauma.
I thought the same at first, I guess she was at risk of drowning? Even tho I don't know why if the bullet only hit the bulletproof vest, I think she didn't even have a gunshot wound š
I see many people saying that wine gives in to Korn too much. But I feel like her trauma is bigger than we imagine.…
Thank you for this, it seems like we've had very similar thoughts (at the same time š ). Some comments here are doing the exact same thing that Wine had to go through all this time and contributed to her trauma. In general I feel people are way too uncharitable towards her, her incredible character development and how much she's worked on herself.
I understand why people are frustrated with Wine not confiding in Lal but healing from trauma takes a lot of time and isnāt always linear. Just because she was able to tell Lal about what happened with that man in the past doesnāt necessarily mean sheās ready for other steps as well. Sheās clearly still heavily traumatised/gets triggered and freezes whenever Kornās around. And itās absolutely nobodyās fault, Lal has done everything in her power to support her but at the end of the day, Wine has to find that āfinalā strength within herself but sheās obviously still struggling and it isnāt her fault either and it has nothing to do with her not trying hard enough or not wanting it enough, itās simply the way trauma/mental health struggles work and I think they're doing a great job at showing it. I agree that itās more stereotypical story-writing to create (last-minute) drama but that doesnāt mean Wine holding back or is unrealistic, stupid or cowardly. All her life sheās received the message that sheās somehow to blame for what happened, sheās always felt like a burden to others, she has obvious avoidant tendencies and now on top of that that disgusting creature threatens not only her but also Lal, so I think itās very much believable that Wine would choose to āsacrificeā herself to protect Lal.
Yeah, not exactly the "real world." When they asked about proving Blew is the real princess, my first…
yeah there's so many things that make zero sense to me lol. I'll continue watching because it's entertaining, funny and bc of FreenBecky's amazing chemistry but the plot itself is a complete mess
