I'm still on episode 8, but this is probably one of the very few times I actually hated a SML in a Korean drama. He's so annoying at this point. I don't have even a little bit of second lead syndrome with him. I hate how he's trying to drag down the ML just because of something he doesn't even know well. He was barely a witness to what actually happened in the past. He didn't even see anything related to the ML. But based on whatever he saw, he developed his own story in his stupid head and is now going after the ML, who's just minding his own business. I just can't stand him.

Can i watch this without watching season 1? Will it make things hard to underatand and are they linked?
No.. I watched this without watching season 1 and had no problems in understanding .. And also in the beginning of S2 we get to see sort of a summary of S1. So you'll be fine

Am I the only one who enjoyed this so much? I didn't get bored, and I didn't notice any significant downhill trend after the first few episodes. It was great from beginning to end. I enjoy romance a lot but never missed it in this show. My only complaint is that it would've been great if the ending had been a little bit longer. Other than that, I really loved this one. Especially I love the main bully and the gangster crew; they were the cutest bad guys I've seen in a drama. Their characters are more adorable than the leads for me.

Dong Baek might have an ability but he doesn't have the brains to use it well. Instead he just charges into everything…
So true. He makes one stupid decision after another, letting his emotions get the best of him.

Title The Atypical Family Spoiler
Loved it but kind of unsatisfied with the ending. My biggest complaint is about limiting the Bok Dong Hee and…
Ina's high school days with her boyfriend, Dong hee-hyung tae love story, a little backstory about how the kid brought back Gwi Ju, and his reunion with the family... At least another 10 minutes including these things would've given the perfect ending. But they missed all of this

Loved it but kind of unsatisfied with the ending. My biggest complaint is about limiting the Bok Dong Hee and Hyung Tae story to the last episode. That story deserved so much more screen time and could've been the sweetest story out of all. It's like they missed out on so much potential there.. The ending felt rushed; there were so many things that needed more screen time. Even the ending itself needed more screen time, in my opinion. I'm left with a ton of questions, so it didn't feel like a satisfying wrap-up. But overall, still enjoyed the drama. Definitely gonna miss it!

This mom is killing me. Even for an abusive and controlling person, she is way over the top. There is a lot of…
Yes exactly. some are defending her saying she's not when she's clearly abusing her children emotionally but that was covered because she is portrayed as a "good caring" mom. People have a specific frame to define the word "abuse" and believe only direct abuse is the only form of abuse. Don't know when people will ever understand that it's not.

i guess u didnt watch - love like the galaxy, story of kunning palace, about is love... they hv terrible mom characters
People are often very misunderstood about the concept of mental abuse. How can you be so sure that this mom is not mentally abusing her children? Just because she cares too much about them? Sometimes, that can also be a form of mental abuse that a parent can inflict on their children. It's not always about direct abuse. Just look at how many times she emotionally blackmails and guilt-trips the FML with 'I raised you, I gave birth to you.' We will never be able to repay the debt we owe our parents for raising us and bringing us into this world, I 100% agree with that. But that itself shouldn't be used to interfere and meddle too much in their children's lives. She does so many things, and she always believes she's doing the right thing for her children without even asking for their opinion. Although they're the parents, those children are also individuals with feelings, emotions, and rights, so no parent should ever be so involved and decide everything for their kids without even asking them. And FYI, she didn't immediately apologize for FML after that engagement incident. FML tried so many times to leave the place without causing a scene, but that mom never let her, even slapping her in front of a huge crowd when she finally decided to stand up for herself for the very first time in her whole life. Then, when she finally decides to leave the house, she comes and guilt-trips her with the whole 'I raised you and I gave birth to you' card. And the way she treats her son is even worse. For me, This pattern of behavior suggests emotional abuse to some extent. Just because some moms were portrayed as directly mistreating and abusing their children doesn't mean that what this mom does is better than them. They both are mentally abusing but in different forms. Respecting their children's decisions, especially when they're adults and have good personalities overall (both FML and her brother are good and obedient children, so respecting their decisions and believing in them shouldn't be so hard for that mom) is what a parent should do. Not going behind their backs and interfering too much in their lives, which will eventually lead those children to face negative consequences. And for me, she looks especially bad because unlike other evil moms who are obviously evil and because of that their children always fight and defend themselves from those moms, this mom is portrayed as a good, caring mom, which leads children to be more obedient and never fight back with her, eventually leading those children to suffer while she gets her way. That actually makes me more upset about that character. It would've been more tolerable if she was portrayed as a bad mom so that the children would've been able to defend themselves from her.

I've watched both "Love Like the Galaxy" and "Story of Kunning Palace," along with many other dramas featuring evil mom characters, but none of them were as bad as this one. Just my personal opinion... She's interfering too much with other people's lives, being a nuisance even to strangers. That's too much to tolerate. I think the difference lies in the fact that in the other dramas you mentioned, the FML always stood up for herself and went against their moms when they were mistreated. But in this drama, literally no one goes against the mom; they always let her have her way while bearing the consequences. The one time the FML actually stood up for herself, I was really happy, but I see no character development in that mom even after that. So yeah, even after witnessing all those bad mom characters, this one is still at the top of the list for me.

So that mom's character supposed to be funny? She's too hard to tolerate but all everyone does is pleasing her. She's boiling my blood... Never hated a mom character as much as I hate this one before

Byeon Wooseok was a total rookie actor in male lead but he is the best male lead ever.

Putting all my feelings into words is quite the challenge right now, but this drama truly deserves more than a 10/10 rating, maybe even a 100/10. It's just exceptional. From the acting to the OSTs, plot, ending, and the drama itself, everything is mind-blowing. It embodies the definition of a romcom perfectly. Nothing less or nothing more. Everything was on the perfect level. The ending was so satisfying, which is rare in dramas. I really had trust issues about the ending when I saw the first few minutes of episode 16, but they gave us a detailed ending, for which I'll be forever grateful. Everyone acted so well, but especially Byeon Woo Seok. He did so well that I felt exactly what he expressed through his character. No other actor would've ever done Ryu Seon Jae as well as Byeon Woo Seok did. Ryu Seon Jae was made for him. I remember being so happy when I heard the news of him landing the lead role in a drama, and he truly proved that my high expectations were justified. I really hope he will finally get to do more lead roles in the future. I actually have no words to express how truly I feel about this drama because it's that good. I don't know how I'll survive my Mondays from next week onwards... It's been a while since I've felt completely satisfied with a drama from beginning to end. I'm thankful to the entire crew for creating this masterpiece. As a longtime K-drama fan, my only wish is for future directors to take inspiration from this and produce more satisfying dramas like this one. I'll truly miss this drama and will feel extremely empty without it for a while.

Title Lovely Runner Spoiler
Given the nature of the drama, it's definitely going to be a happy ending. But it could be an ending like twinkling…
Yes the novel version is a happy ending but i heard in that version, Sol never had a disability in the first place. Whole disability plot is from the drama version so we'd never know.. I'd personally love to see her also perusing her dreams without being disabled though.. That'd be great but we can't trust kdrama writers nowadays.

Given the nature of the drama, it's definitely going to be a happy ending. But it could be an ending like twinkling watermelon where the Sol will still be disabled.
