Title Love of Silom Spoiler
I really enjoyed this one on a pure entertainment level. The leads have strong chemistry, and the first half is…
The whole point of their wonderful story is that they both rescue each other out of the dead-end life situations and free each other. It’s not supposed to be one-sided like many BLs live to do. When one gives and the other is just there. We all joke about Wayu falling in love with Krit since the first day he saved his life and saved him from becoming a prostitute (which is true), but it’s not just about him saving his life multiple times, if Krit didn’t return his sister and saved her from abuser, if he didn’t push Wayu get back into university, it would all end tragically. He would stay on this job, got serious health problems like in the book, without Wai mom would never got any job and Singto would be without mom and education, mom would certainly kill Wayu by getting him into prostitution due to needing even more money and Wayu being naive that he is would just die somewhere under some psycho dude while drinking god knows what bc he trusts everyone. Krit breathed life back into him and made sure he was safe in every aspect. So like Wai said this dad situation is Wayu’s turn to fight back for Krit and protect him for once. “he’s done so so much for you, it’s time for you to show him how you feel too”. It’s also very sweet and actually very sad because it was said that Wayu was actually the ONLY person who wanted to give Krit love back. Others only took. That’s why Krit finally decided for the first time in his life that maybe just maybe he deserves something good too. And while the fight with dad here will never be satisfactory in terms that writers I assume as usual decided not to punish him in any way (I’d be glad if something happens in ep12 but I doubt it due to as we already discussed cultural problematics), his main punishment was the fact that Krit and Wayu were happy. If it helps after two years of being extremely happy together, Wayu said that he already doesn’t care about dad not accepting them and that once a month he can’t stand to be in one room with them when they visit, bc Krit is so incredible that with such amazing boyfriend bad family means nothing 🤣

Giving your significant other your military tag means “I’m off the market and now only belong to one person”…
spoiler: he was sure that Krit is his person for life since episode number 1 and 1st page of the book 🤣🤣🤣

Wayu standing up for Krit to his dad was such an iconic and satisfying moment in the novel that everyone was waiting…
It’s definitely heavily frowned upon, but I don’t think it’s officially prohibited or anything lol. I do think book Wayu is too progressive for thai media tho 🤣 I’ve read a LOT of Chinese and Thai novels and I’d say that you mostly won’t meet characters who’d yell at the parents (of their boyfriend especially!!!), I think it is definitely considered as inappropriate and wild behavior in asian culture. From the top of my head I can’t even remember anyone doing that. I’m also curious about Thai audience question. That’d be interesting if Wayu screamed at the dad and one side of the audience went “oh no, we cannot relate to that”. Like how deep does it go in 2026 I’m wondering also.

He was in a coma for TWO MONTHS in a book (I think it was much shorter here), it causes muscles atrophy and patients…
They still showed so much respect for the dad, who abandoned two kids to deal with killers bc his ass was in danger, I’m crying, love me 99% of asian drama parents lighting my ass on fire 🌚

but one huge plus their kids somehow grew up to be the men whose love language is to obsessively take care of their other half in any ways possible even if it’s cutting off himself from the picture (they will still look after you secretly as a stalker tho, do not worry 🤣). I guess overdoing it is the trauma response to getting zero care in childhood. Huge minus is they can’t accept any help and won’t ask for any help if they have any problems, bc they don’t want to be a burden for you 💀💀💀

When Wai said “why won’t you do something for him after everything he did for you?” I was like it’s good that he’s in a coma and can’t run away, bc that’s not his love language 🤣 We will hear and help with all your family problems, your family problems are our problems, but my family problems are only my problems, can’t ask you to share the burden other way around 🤣🤣🤣

Sad they didn’t keep how he woke up from a coma and asked why Wayu is so thin while himself being a skeleton, but glad that they replaced it with even better when he was dying and said “if Wayu is safe, then I’m happy” 💀

In my stand in the dad just gave up. The mom and tong got redemption.
yeah, Joe’s stupidity was hard to handle and true about no character development, I just sadly found him extremely boring as a character, when I read/watch toxic I need me some interesting characters and he made me partially 😴😴😴 partially just pissed off bc of his actions of a 4-years old 😅🤣 like I don’t judge anyone masochistic tendencies you go bro if you love it I don’t judge, but in other aspects of his actions you gotta consider getting brains somewhere my dude 🤣

lmaooooooo about the plot you described, chinese novels are always peak insanity, I think it’s even somewhat mild out of things I’ve read. No consequences for family members is really my least fav thing ever. My rage levels go abnormal at this no matter how many times I encounter this shit. But hey if in dark romances ML is always forgiven by MC for raping, killing, torturing etc then why not family members too? Gotta be fair you know 🤣 in normal shows tho it’s harder for me to accept no consequences for evil, bc it’s like I’m watching several episodes of two good people being abused and then just nothing… I’m dying inside from this

Lol yeah “My Stand-In” is still one of my fav shows but while reading the novel and during watching I always couldn’t comprehend how Zhou Xiang (Joe) can have so little brain cells, I’m sorry 😭🤣 in “Beloved Enemy” at least Gu Qing Pei is smart, I haven’t finished “Little Poplar”, “Winner takes all”, “Sissy” and others from 188 though, maybe later 🤣

Without the "good friend" shield though - Tai isn't putting him down. He's providing the other party's…
lol yeah it’s kinda hilarious that she’s a ghost I think they imply that they’re together for so long they don’t need pda and showing around, maybe she’s a homebody and wants no part of this 🤣 when Wayu trolled him about go party “since your partner doesn’t care, Krit wants to be with me all the time tho” it was funny, I bet they’re just normal unlike two glues lol

tbh I don’t mind not adding another character, I love when the show is focused on one couple only, we have enough people as it is 🤣

Yeah, I think they just walked out of there, I don’t remember dad redemption. Tong’s redemption and Joe helping him at the end and putting himself in danger by making himself his double again and getting shot for him got me so pissed off I was just facepalming the whole arc 🤦🏼‍♀️ I don’t get why they refused to get Tong killed by those terrorists who he has gotten major loans from. It’s probably again because he’s technically part of the family and Ming’s sister was pregnant and you need to forgive part of the family 💀🤣

Ehhh? Tai has a girlfriend. They’ve discussed it with Wayu many times during the series. He’s been in a relationships for many years.

For fast track:Where has Krit's team been this whole time? Why is he trying to get Wayu out of the building himself?WHAT…
He was in a coma for TWO MONTHS in a book (I think it was much shorter here), it causes muscles atrophy and patients need physical therapy to regain mobility and at first unable to move and walk. If you were in a coma up to 2 weeks, you’d need at least a week of therapy to regain walking ability, but if you were in a coma for 1 months sadly it can take up to a freaking YEAR for some to start moving normally again depends on your body. In fact he got up way too fast I assume out of will to see Wayu who he was upset disappeared right after he woke up 🤣 So inability to walk for a bit has nothing to do with his spine. Thank god. Because if he got shot in the back like Palm and became partially disabled for some time, he would also not come back, because with his way of thinking he’s a disability to Wayu’s life as it is 💀

I understand you, but even if we don’t consider the book, if I found out my bestie said that to my partner I would honestly reconsider being friends, so if we’re talking series I only like Rose as a friend. Same as if someone told me that Krit’s parents are “loving ones” I’d tell him that he’s not right in the head lol but that’s just me

Again I am not in any way against Tai lecturing Wayu on the theme of blindness/irrationality etc. But I will never agree with him doing this. It’s like from the other side saying that dad is correct and protects Krit from Wayu bc he’s worryied that he’s only with him because of his money bc he’s well aware how society works. He also in the hospital said that love doesn’t conquer all. Imo I just dislike the changes about Tai’s character from the book so much. He wasn’t supposed to become yet another obstacle in what already is a tough road for the two. Like in this last episode with his weirdass takes on Krit’s dad, he’s putting things in Wayu’s naive head that I wish wasn’t there. I get that they wanted to make him a comic relief, but that’s just not it. I can guarantee you would he not be a main character’s bestie, but a villain people would notice much more fucked up takes he has. Krit might have not made this decision if the best friend didn’t also salted the wound on top adding more arguments to his own fucked up thoughts that he doesn’t deserve Wayu and can’t make him happy.

That is also minding the fact that no dad no Tai know what relationship these two have to make assumptions on who is gonna hurt someone in the future bc of unfortunate family circumstances.

I’m actually surprised they fucked up Tai here but made Rose so much more incredible. (Just because usually BL writers tend to fuck up women’s characters). Bc in the book she stopped Wayu from attacking the dad (which I hated), while here she stopped dad from attacking Wayu. To me true friend is more like this. She supports the decisions and understanding but she sees what Wayu and Krit want themselves and actually says correct things according to circumstances bc she cares about their feelings. She doesn’t live in a fairy tale either, but she refuses to help the fucked up reality too.

That’s just me. I have a beef with what they did to Tai. I no longer see him the way he was initially in my head after their interpretation. Some things he said just make me mad on so many levels, not even KritWayu related but just his weird takes on life that he didn’t have in the novel. Writers choices are their choices tho.

Action scenes I love them for fun lmao social realism is in, other realism is out 🤣

Ugh…. I hate this and like where did they even get that they’re not good enough? Okay, Krit was called a disappointment…
yeah watch the writers delete this part 🤣🤣🤣 with such writing healing is officially cancelled

all the healing time will go to more mental abuse from the dad and mom while they pretend to be changed ppl 💀

Title Love of Silom Spoiler
Even though I’m still crying about writers making this awful parallel, but I still gotta mention that Tai saying to Krit that he doesn’t have anything to make Wayu’s life better in episode 9 and Krit’s dad saying to Wayu that he doesn’t have anything to make Krit’s life better in episode 11 now are both equally awful.

I hated it when Tai did it before Krit deciding to break up and I hated it now when dad did same to Wayu. Both Krit and Wayu canonically have very low self-worth as it is thinking how not good enough they are and we have to deal with you thinking the you have the right to open your mouth about who is worthy of what. Saying such things to their partners while the other can’t hear it is disgusting imo. Yeah, both. I’m not gonna have any double standards as if one is a good protective friend and the other is an awful parent. They both know very well that would Wayu overheard Tai saying this to Krit or Krit overheard dad saying this to Wayu they would flip, so ofc behind the backs is nice in the opinion. You gotta have some sort of god complex if you think you have the right to do such things. I can never imagine myself doing this. If you want to talk to your friend or child directly and tell them they’re making bad choices in their relationship okay go ahead “warn” them, but trying to mess with the head of the person they love by saying they're not good enough is a low blow.

And Wayu and Krit should just stop listening to everyone and go on a long vacation where they will raise each other’s self-esteem by constantly telling eo how perfect they are for hours. If you repeat to each other 100 times “I’m not good enough for you, cause you’re perfection” while the other says the same maybe you’ll realize how absurd it is. If someone who you think is the best person on earth thinks YOU are the best person on earth obviously you can’t be the “nothing good” you think you are.

that shit never happened. I know nothing, I’ve deleted 75% of this episode from my brain.

Paralleling Tai saying to Krit that he doesn’t have anything to make Wayu’s life better to Krit’s dad saying to Wayu that he has nothing to make Krit’s life better is DISBOLICAL!!!!! Who HATES TAI SO MUCH? 😭😭😭 this never happened

if ep12 doesn’t start with Wayu saying “I needed 2 secs to think, let’s go, baby” I’ll cry

I thought this episode was written by three different people, one of them needs to go to jail. If Tai siding with Krit’s dad I can take for the dumb humor side same as him saying how pretty Krit’s fiancé is, but Wayu having split personalities all of a sudden makes zero sense. I hope they will not ruin the magical Wayu in ep12 or this is gonna be a disaster. I love him too much to watch this, I can’t express how disappointed I am with this shit today. And almost the whole hour of parents just sucking joy out of every fucking second, as if we care for their shitty asses, it was just depression and dissatisfaction galore 😭

I think in 2026 it’s time to understand that there’s a difference between culture and child abuse

The only moment that saved my soul in this absolutely (imo) sadistic and awful overall episode was when doctor told everyone that Krit doesn’t wanna live despite his vitals being okay and Wayu attacking his man with “I know you’ve wanted me all this time, I’M RIGHT HERE (🤣🤣🤣 I would also wake up asap not gonna lie). You don’t need to love and care of me from afar. Tell me everything to my face. I don’t want to only hear about it from other people.” and Krit immediately wanting to live ❤️❤️❤️

Wayu, don’t dangle the carrot for the sake of ep12, that’s OOC, you guys jumped eo the moment he woke up and never ever unglued in the book, he only woke up for this, he will fall back into coma pls, he didn’t lie that he doesn’t need this life without you 🤣
