He said the English speakers or in general Western people don't have the concept of filial piety. The concept of filial piety has been rooted from Confucianism. Parents always think that they own their children because thank to them the children were born, and brought up etc. This is quite opposite to western concept of parenting. I had talked with some western parents and they said it was them to make the decision to have kids and their kids did not choose to be born.
