It’s so slow-paced and I can’t seem to enjoy the actions that are ongoing in the show.
Some dramas are slow-paced yet the events going on in the drama keeps you interested and the story flows. But, not this. The actors are good but the events going on aren’t interesting and it’s also slow. The script and direction seems to have been the problem.
For now im assuming its "for the plot" and they didn't take into acount the scar issue. But there's a high chance…
Of course, she knew. How else would the maid she sent know exactly what part of her cloth to open and reveal a scar? Also, she planned to send her to Danzhou as a baby in cahoots with that Taoist, of course, she knew she wouldn't be treated well. Also, with the way the foster parents were complaining about money, it seems (although not yet revealed in the drama) that she made sure the money and the provisions never got to Danzhou. She is the mastermind and was only pretending in episodes 1 &2 that she was the sweet concubine to FL until FL decided to cause a ruckus to reveal everyone's true colour.
Oh, the make-up artist for this show is exceptional. Scars are believable, blood looks believable too and torture looks real. Kudos so far to the team. I hope their budget wasn't cut off halfway and the look of the drama changes later LOL.
I love the decisiveness of the characters (especially the FL) in this show. There is no time to cry over it, plan and execute (and in an intelligent way too) 👏
As Haikou pointed out, the main reason Huazi doesn't want to work for Wanghe is because then they cannot date.…
It's also because of establishing her independence as the other poster wrote. She even paid back the money that his family paid to that guy that he beat up because of her. Even when he refused to take it, she insisted and said if she needed the money she would ask him. Remember also as teenagers in High School, WangHe mentioned that he wanted a woman who could build with him and is hardworking as a wife, maybe subconsciously that's why she wanted her independence and even got the self-study degree.
Yes, it's clear that you mean Tiantiann, but it's not even clear that romance is the strong point here to say…
We all know there will be romance even not overtly. They could have found a 2nd person to play her older version when the admiration arch will be played. Like you mentioned, she played a younger Zhao Liying. Why is she now playing both younger and older here if this is supposed to be a remake and even worse if it’s a sequel. There was admiration in the original too between Zhao Liying and the ML. I’m just saying, no matter how good the actress is, age considerations should be made if even an implicit assumption of romance is there. Speaking in the light of the Korean scandal. It’s not right.
I wish too. I never saw the advert. Just saw it and clicked on it 🤭. It ended up being so good and I came to find it on MDL and join the conversations about it.
I hate when they cast super young people with significantly older person as lead couples. She’s not even 18 yet. Later when a scandal breaks, the whole industry will act like they were not encouraging underage dating and predatory behaviour.

5 episodes in and I’m sorry I have to let it go.
